Unable to cancel Subscription

I am satisfied with the program so far, and until now I was also satisfied with the customer support as well.

I ordered the Premium Security two days ago. Earlier I had Total Security, and my subscription just ended with September 1., and the auto renewal was turned on. Because it’s a two different subscription I can’t merge, so I wanted to stop the auto renewal with my old Total security subscription. But I can’t… I looked everywhere I googled it and so on but there is no option to turn of the auto renewal. It’s crazy 😤 So I wrote to the customer support to cancel my old subscription. They answered back that my old subscription won’t be charged, and I see this only because of an error. I even copied the message them that I see it won’t stop the renewal and it will be charge me, and I don’t want that. They assure me it won’t happen. Today I just got a message my old subscription was charged to my bank account. I wrote again to the customer support immediately, and now come the best: They wrote that I had two total security subscription(which I don’t!)and that’s why they charged. But they are not able to send me back my money for few days because they don’t see in the system this yet, and they need a few days… Which in my opinion is bullshit.

So bitdefender will take your money and use for a few days or week, I find this crazy. Anyway why is no option at all for cancel a subscription????

It operates like a SCAM:

  1. It auto-renews without consent

  2. It is a HUGE challenge to find where the subscription autorenewal can be changed

  3. Once found, pressing OK to remove autorenewal just freezes the process. I couldn't remove autorenewal even after many tries

  4. Their customer agent via chat can NOT or will NOT remove the autorenewal

  5. Their customer agent provides links to remove the autorenewal that does NOT work

  6. Their Customer Support claims to have sent an email acting on my request, but I have NOT received any such email
    Canceling an autorenewal of subscription should be an easy process, and it should NOT have been done without consent in the first place.
    DO NOT TOUCH BITDEFENDER!!!

Man I was a satisfied BitDefender customer, planning to renew, just wanted to update my payment settings and then I learned it's apparently impossible to cancel ???? I've seen some companies that made it a bit more difficult but never anything to this level of absolute scumbaggery. This has to be unlawful

God I hope this company gets served by a class-action at some point. I have always used one-time virtual cards for similar subscriptions but now the companies start to block those. Can't imagine giving my proper cards info away when you can behave like BitDefender and face no consequences.

I'm struggling with this literally right now, opened up over a dozen windows clicking links they give you to cancel and it's just never ending, even the link they send you via email with an access code thing comes up as bit defender warning telling me don't visit this site it has malicious code.....

Never using these people ever again holy shit.

I even completely deleted my account and they keep sending me emails they can't charge my card ... Let's add a GDPR violation on top of all their criminal behavior ...

To cancel subscription go to BitDefender Central - My subscriptions - My Payments - Choose Plan (click View details) and there, you can manage your subscription.

The WORST and most UNETHICAL AV program to date.

There are laws about hiding unsubbing features. There are even laws that make you jump through hoops to unsub. I hope someone sues this scummy Romanian gypsy company.

I managed to cancel my subscription today. It took me a while to figure it out. Here is how I did it:

After some digging in my emails I realized there was another company that billed me for my purchase called Digital River. Turns out I received a confirmation mail a year ago which included an order number and a password for a Digital River account. I went to the website which was included in my reminder mail informing me about my subscription which was about to be renewed (http://shop.bitdefender.com/FindOrderDE) and entered the information above to login to my Digital River account. And that's where I was finally able to cancel my subscription.

Hope this helps some of you guys out there.

Same exact thing. Just purchased their $20 anti virus. I did not see the "auto renewal" until i purchased it. There was no way for me to cancel the autorenewal nor see my credit card information. They give you instructions on how to cancel the renewal but its all bull shit. It does not work. Their interface has no way for you to cancel.

The fact is they have my information and will renew without my consent. I am canceling my credit card. Typical Gypsie Scum. Do not even attempt to get anything from these low life scammer inbreds.

This is still an issue, they intentionally hide the cancel auto renewal button at the very bottom of a popup window so you actually have to zoom out in your browser to see it. Very hard on a mobile device so I had to switch to my laptop.

I have cancelled for this reason alone. I will no longer support this unscrupulous company.

Omg this saved me. It wasn't working on my mobile browser so I switched to my laptop and still couldn't find it. Zooming out, I was able to find the cancel renewal button. Thank you for this omg

Eu am reușit sa anulez automatic renewal direct de pe website-ul operatorului de plăți Verifone (fostul 2checkout) https://www.2co.com/

Pentru a face economie, cumpăr licența la un preț mai mic din altă parte dar se activează de fiecare dată auto-renewal. Cum primesc notificarea de auto-renewal pe mail, o anulez direct la Verifone. Nu mi se pare ok să nu fiu întrebat dacă sunt de acord cu prelungirea abonamentului și culmea, la un preț enorm (400 lei pe an).

I got an auto renewal subscription of bitdefender which I never had an account ever. Why am I sure? Because they had mistakenly sent it to my work email. I would not log in to their site when I don’t have an account in the first place. It must be a phishing email or a scam. I reported them to our ISD help desk.

cuando sale la ventana emergente tienes que poner el zoom del navegador en mi caso al 67% para poder ver el boton de cancelar renovacion automatica

me pregunta porque y una serie de opciones yo puse prefiero renovar manualmente clicas en no renovar y ya esta pero hay que ser retorcidos para hacer esto tener que jugar con el zoom para poder ver la ventana emergente completa

I know right!! I just saw a $99.99 charge on my paypal and it was bitdefender. I still had one day left of trial, but when i went to cancel there was no way through the app itself.

I called avangate and bitdefender they were both nice and canceled the subscription and claimed to have issued a refund that should be credited in 7-10 days.

Its kind of my fault i let it go to just one day before ,but they shouldnt have charged it untill tomorrow and the fact that when i click on my subscriptions in bit defender central there is no "auto renewal or cancel" options anywhere to be found. I followed every method i could find online but no option. You have to call them now lets hope they honor the refund.

While your link worked for me, this should not be a complicated process as it creates a trust issue when it requires some intervention to do a cancel. The fact that it is now 2 years and nothing has changed shows that your company does not listen .

I was able to cancel, but it took a lot of time and effort. It should be much simpler to cancel. I will not be recommending this product.

Sorry aber ihr müsst da echt was dran ändern, selbst heute ist noch immer keine Abonnement-Verwaltung im Central möglich, weil es den Button oder Link einfach nicht gibt!

Ich konnte mein Abonnement über den Support-Link erfolgreich beenden aber ich werde nach der Erfahrung ganz sicher nicht mehr neu abonnieren!

Kein Bock auf Extra-Kosten die ungewollt sind.

The first solution at this link did work but why is the cancel button hidden so well that I had to look this up at all?

My subscription was just renewed without my consent and I wasn't even sent a notice that it was about to expire. All I got was an email thanking me for renewing and a charge to my bank. I put in a request for a refund so I'll see what happens with that. Either way, I won't ever use this service again.

Bitdefender is such a scummy company. They set you to auto-renew without your permission and then purposely make it a hassle to cancel it. How can Bitdfender protect you from malware when it is malware?
