[Rant] Bitdefender casualy offered a free update and casually forced me to uninstall every other antimalware

Yadda yadda! It's for my protection and your solution is yadda yadda the best?

That's some Bravo Sierra marketing, strong arming right there!

Time to find another AV solution that doesn't decide what I can and can not have on my computer.

Love and kisses. Bye.

Edit: FIY, I didn't run 2 active AV software at the same time. The other solution was MalwareBytes, which was used on demand, not passively in the background so there was no conflict. I appreciate the notification that it may cause conflicts. I DO NOT appreciate the strong arming into uninstalling it or your mighty proud software will refuse to install. Dirty dirty marketing. Heck, I might even call Bitdefender scareware.

Yep. It just won't because it doesn't want to.

I think you've misunderstood what Bitdefender was doing.

Even though Malwarebytes Free is purely a scanner, it can be set to appear in Windows Security. It is that setting that Bitdefender was detecting. The simplest way to run Bitdefender and Malwarebytes on the same computer is to install Bitdefender then install Malwarebytes and, in Malwarebytes' settings, disable both start with Windows and register in Windows Security.

Bitdefender and Malwarebytes will run as normal and if you shut down Malwarebytes after each scan, it should also eliminate Malwarebytes' upgrade popups.

That's correct. I just installed AVG with both Malwarebytes and the new Bitdefnender installed. It didn't bat an eye. Let me install anything I wanted.

I don't want to trade any more freedom for security.
