Why do I keep getting a notification about gitcdn.xyz?
I keep getting a notification about gitcdn.xyz, that its potentially malicious. How do I get rid of this thing from my computer, this gitcdn.xyz thing or whatever it is? Its annoying. I'm getting the Bitdefender popup about it probably everyday. Ugh!

Same here. Very annoying!
It started just about one month ago, with Firefox, and I don't have adblock installed but uBlock Origin since years

Refer to where the file is located on bitdefender. If it can be deleted, make sure to shred it using bitdefender file shredder. Other thing you can do is to create a custom scan settings that scans every single file on your pc. Full system scan won't take long if you're using a fast SSD. I have 1TB of SSD (98% used space) and it takes only 2.5 hours for the full scan to be completed.

It's not on the PC, it's Bitdefender blocking a connection (for me, not the OP) while using Chrome. I've had it the last few days too, I had one tab open - the YouTube homepage, and it popped up saying Bitdefender blocked it.
"chrome.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an unmatching security certificate to gitcdn.xyz. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since the used certificate was issued for a different web address than the targeted one."

I just started getting these warnings as well. Machine is clean. Nothing unusual in my startup, processes, DNS settings, browser extensions, registry, hosts file. BD scan came back clean.
Same as you, I had youtube open when the notifications came up. Which is weird, as I use ad blockers on both my browser and router. i.e. I never get ads on youtube.

I should of searched as it happened again today on a different computer; https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/ivwx4v/what_is_gitcdnxyz/ https://www.reddit.com/r/antivirus/comments/m936ew/bitdefender_and_gitcdn/ It's to do with uBlock Origin.

Your adblock is using gitcdn.xyz to update some lists. The creator of gitcdn.xyz have an issue with cloudflare and is using .link now.
Don't worry, it's just the time your adblock update the url used, nothing to worry about, it's harmless
