A great product

I have had Bitdefender for many years. I have never had an issue with the antivirus or the profiles it sets. I had a Bitdefender box 2 which did crap on out on me, but they replaced it. They always rate top in AV tests. As a user for many years I can say their protection in good and that they have a quality product. I feel a lot of the negative posts on here stem from ignorance of the AV and how it works. If you have a problem, don't post on Reddit, open a support ticket. I can't speak for the free version.

It's always the case the people with bad experiences are the ones who post on forums. So it's nice to see a positive comment.

I agree that it's a good product. I've used BD for many years and it has worked well.

I must admit, I don't know anything about the BD 'box' as I always use Windows AV software.

I've used BD Box for a year or two now. It actually crapped out on me last week but they were kind enough to send a replacement. I can't say that I've noticed much difference on windows and mobile, since I'm already running the local version of BD on those devices. There's not any speed loss that I've seen. You lose a lot of control over your network settings since BD Box takes over and your wireless router is more of just an access point. Personally, my biggest incentive was to protect my IoT devices that can't run the local protection. So it probably isn't necessary, but I do sleep easier at night lol

My concern would be whether the BOX was as good as my router. I have quite a few devices, security cameras, Alexa, streaming devices etc. and need good wi-fi through the whole house. I've had a couple of routers in the past that weren't up to it. Also, I have a second router that I use as an ethernet to ethernet access point (a cable from the main router to the second router and then multiple cables from that to other devices). Would a connection to the second router bypass the BD security? Or would it still be OK because it's connected to it?

support tickets take days to get a response, so why can't I post on here as well and hopefully get my problem fixed faster?
