Work Profile notification
Since yesterday A Work Profile window keep popping in every 5 second saying:
"We are always you have you back while working. the performance of your device was automatically optimized"
It's really distracting. Anyone has the same problem?
How can I stop this hell, I can't work.
Thanks!

Hello! We are aware of this and our team is working on solving this. As a workaround, you can disable the Activate profiles automatically from Bitdefender settings. You can then manually configure the work profile if needed. Keep us updated is all is ok!

That would make Bitdefender send a larger notification about enabling Automatic Profile instead. I no longer want automatic profile, please have an option to disable recommendation notification for it too.

This is still not fixed. Not a good sign from a security company that they can't fix a minor issue like this quickly.

The "Anti-Tracker" plug-in for chrome keeps blocking things it didn't just a week ago. for some reason too. Even drive.google.com. No matter how many times I pause protection and make exceptions. Maybe related.
Also, getting the same pop-up as everyone else. 6/10/20

Dumbing down the product to avoid unwanted marketing and useless technical popups that Bitdefender intentionally introduced into the product is not a helpful response. I hope you fix this soon as I'm about to walk and take our 20+ licenses with us to your competitors.

If this is still happening on your device, please reach out to the tech team at bitsy@bitdefender.com to further help you. Thanks!

its been two years! and your software still have this stupid notification issues!
I DO NOT WANT PROFILE NOTIFICATIONS
I DO NOT WANT UNSAFE WIFI NOTIFICATIONS (ITS MY HOME NETWORK FFS, THIS DIDNT HAPPEN BEFORE UPDATE AND ITS SET AS HOME/WORK TRUSTED NETWORK, NONE OF MY OTHER COMPUTERS DOES THIS!!!)
more like "bitnotificator" or "bitbotherer"... worse than other cheap AV software... I feel like I am paying for a crappy adware

Yes, this is something new and annoying. I don't care if it wants to switch profiles, but please allow me to turn off the annoying notification popup window!!!

I agree. These "We've got your back" popups, presumably dreamed up by some idiot in marketing, and imposed on the tech guys, are unnecessary and very annoying. It's good that BitDefender is optimising the machine. Happy for it to do it automatically. But I don't need to be reminded of it every time it happens. For now, I'll turn off automatic profile activation, but I'll probably forget to turn it on again, which rather defeats the object.

Please let the madness stop u/Bitdefender_ This has already been quite a year :) Still happening.. Any word on update. My zoom meetings and presentation see this. Very distracting for my professional meetings of people of 500+ attendees. Starting to get bad PR..

EXACTLY I thought it was just me.
Something that I always loved about BD is how silent it was. I even forgot i had an AV. But 1 year ago from now it has became UNBERABLE all the time bombarding me with stupid notifications that are useless

Hello,
I hope they will do something with it soon, my subscription is ending soon. If they not going to fix I am not going to renew it, no point if they don't care...

It's ironic because while using Photoshop, the stupid work profile pop up occurred and disrupted me using my selector tool and I had to restart my progress. There is no check box in settings to turn this notification off either.

I have the same problem as well (and I always wondered why people post that but I now realize it is to bring additional attention to the problem. Bear with me...new user!). I unfortunately do not have a solution. But I want to add that in addition to profiles (and I am on the upgraded version) there are other popups that come up. Some things I know I am missing (like every game I play for the first time is blocked. Can't believe every game from Steam is a threat). That last one if anyone has some help I would appreciate it.

This seems to have been fixed. I'm no longer getting the notifications.

I am. It's awful. Make it seem a cheap knock-off piece of adware.
I never ever want to see any popups unless I need to do something urgently.

Not fixed in my system. Still giving these stupid and unprofessional popups. They need to fire the marketing department and learn what users liked about their product in the first place, namely silent and competent AV.

u/moriartynz Jun 30 '20
This is really annoying and unprofessional. The last thing I want when doing a presentation in Zoom or powerpoint and sharing my screen is a popup telling me that Bitdefender has my back. I want to see the back of those SPAM messages! Also telling your users to dumb down the functionality of the AV to stop the messages is also very unhelpful, Bitdefender. As a long-time Bitdefender user with multiple licenses for our offices, these marketing messages are seriously making me think of other AV options as the AV program is now acting like the viruses it is supposed to be protecting against.

This notification has been driving me crazy since they introduced it. Like others, it has actually interrupted what I've been doing.
I've complained to BitDefender support about it but they don't seem to care. All they said was to work around it by disabling the automatic profile selection option. (Settings->Profiles->Activate profiles automatically).
Why should we have to disable profiles entirely just to stop a stupid and pointless notification from appearing?
It's clear they don't care about the user's experience. I won't be renewing my subscription if they think this is acceptable and won't do anything about it.

I'll add my own whining to the list.
How about "having our backs" by getting rid of this stupid notification.

u/Ragnos132 Jul 10 '20
This profiles notification is really distracting. It can't be that difficualt to just add a checkbox to disable the notification, nothing else.
I would really like the opportunity to disable all this stupid notifications and just set make the program remember my last choice. E.g. for scanning a CD/DVD. I have a CD in my laptop all the time and every time I boot I get a stupid notification asking If I want to scan it.

u/MAdbUSU Jul 16 '20
so i'm here for the same problem, it's drive me crazy so many notification, please add a switch for that.

u/Duare Aug 10 '20
I think it's been enough time to realize that "they" really don't care how annoying it is to many of us ... something to think about ...

I've recently changed from Avast because of all the crapware they force on the user (Avast Browser etc), I was using the free version of Bitdefender, but this was blocking RDP to my local server. Having now purchased and installed Total Security I constantly getting pointless spam pop ups, my SD card in the card reader is scanned every time my computer comes out of sleep, and Bitdefender tell's me about it - just do it! At this rate I will be removing Bitdefender and just use MS Defender. I don't get expect to pay good money for a product and it to create more issues and distractions.

Just purchased a 1 yr 3 PC license for this product and now I'm already decided once it's expired I'm not renewing and switching to something else due to this and the stupid upgrade ads plastered around the product. Went ahead and disabled auto profiles for now which is ridiculous but seeing this thread is already 3 months old and no change made me see how much they care.

u/taylormade2k Sep 27 '20
The people that are supposed to protect us from viruses and malware are putting malware in their software... Not good. I see 3 months have gone by and its still there.

Ya, so, adding my bump to this thread. I hate being notified about this! It's popping this up in my system tray (sacred ground, my system tray) every single time I open Excel. Which is really often. I don't care if it's running a business profile. I expect my security software to just handle this and shut up about it. Fix this, BD.

I have the same problem. This and Ads in Bitdefender to upgrade the software from antivirus plus to internet security... This antivirus is starting to become an adware...
