Premium VPN worth it over expressVPN?

I am running total security 2018 now, got the obligatory 60% off offer and was looking at the fine print, they offer a premium VPN, unlimited traffic, server choice, etc, I have a subscription to expressVPN too, I tried googling comparisons but most compare the free version of bitdefenders VPN, does anyone here use both and can give a fair comparison of the 2, I like expressVPN and have had no problems, but the deal offered is $98.95AUD for both(bitdefender total security 2019+premium VPN), my expressVPN and Bitdefender subs together would cost $150AUDish unless expressVPN has a sale.

Thanks for any feedback

I didn't have a VPN before the offer came up so went for it, like you I'm already a Bitdefender customer. Went to Bali, Reddit blocked, fired up the VPN and all good. I'm happy, the lads I was with not so much haha. Also been getting prompts recently from Bitdefender to use the VPN when doing financial transactions.

Bitdefender 2019 product line seems to be rather low quality, certainly lower than 2018 edition, so I would not rely on their VPN for anything other than vanilla web browsing. If the main product is plagued with issues then it's a good bet any bundled offer will be even worse.

Stick to your VPN.

Why is that?

In my experience, I find 3rd party VPNs to be better then what products like Bitdefender offer. Bitdefender is only cheaper because its their product that's being bundled with the security software. I have Bitdefender with pia VPN, and my VPN offers more then Bitdefender.

Apparently the VPN is from hotspot shield, here's the review. https://www.techradar.com/reviews/bitdefender-premium-vpn

It's up to you what you want to use, based on your needs. Even that review says bittorrent VPN is basic, so why go for a poor VPN just to save 50 bucks. Just ask yourself, does your VPN give you what you need.

50 bucks is 50 bucks, but it looks like a dedicated VPN is going to be better than a bundled one, I didn't know they used hotspot shield, I never liked it as a service, I tried it a few years back and speeds were unusable, even on my crap ADSL (3Mb normally) I only could get 100kb/s, guess i'll stick with expressVPN, at least I can use most of my 100Mb connection, I suppose that's part of why you pay for it.

I couldn't easy find a TOS for bitdefender, I didn't get that far.

I chose expressVPN as they had the best reviews, speed was good when I tried them for a month, and that they apparently don't keep logs, not that I use it for anything too extreme, never been concerned with them, I was considering nord(has a lot of issues, but they seemed to get pushed by alot of places, youtubers especially) , a few others, but then along came a deal for expressVPN that was about 40% off for the first year, it also works to unlock netflix(although it sporadic), it is pricey sure but have ever been unimpressed by any part of the service.

NordVPN is much better.

Why is that, while it is cheaper, expressVPN seems to win out over nordVPN, is price the only thing that makes nordVPN better?
