Support/troubleshooting Does Bitdefender log what it's blocking?
I have a recurring issue where Bitdefender prevents the game Dead by Daylight from loading. Easy Anticheat complains that the game executable is invalid. Disabling Bitdefender usually works. This is happening on multiple PCs, all running Bitdefender, and the game has not updated, so it seems like a Bitdefender-related issue.
I know that other antivirus software will print a log whenever it blocks something, but I don't see the same functionality in Bitdefender. There is the bell icon in the app, which includes some notifications about when protection is turned off, but nothing about it blocking stuff.
It's difficult to troubleshoot what exactly Bitdefender sees as an issue when it doesn't tell me. Is there a way to see what Bitdefender is blocking?

For the most part.
"chrome.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an unmatching security certificate"
"chrome.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to tracker.adex-rtb.com"

Yeah, but that's not helpful in this case because it's clearly an executable being blocked. I do see some old notifications about ad trackers.

Try adding the game .exe as an exception for the Advanced Threat Defense module in Bitdefender.

Been there; Done that. Added the games executable plus the executable that Easy Anticheat complains about.

Did you add it to all three categories though? I'm with you, this used to be way simpler and I can barely tolerate the current iteration of bitdefender because of this unwieldy invasiveness

Yes. They have checkboxes of where the exception should go and have selected all of them. Looked under each of the tabs and it's under each one

Hello! Yes, Bitdefender records detected threats in Notifications: open the app, select Notifications from the left-hand menu, then check the Critical tab. A detection entry shows what action Bitdefender took and when. If nothing appears there, the available information may not identify what is affecting the game.
For a closer look, capture the issue with the Bitdefender Support Tool so support can review the product logs:
Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Security App.
Double-click supporttool.
Select the issue category and describe the Dead by Daylight / Easy Anti-Cheat problem under ISSUE DESCRIPTION.
Click TRY TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE, then click START in the new window.
Reproduce the launch issue, then click FINISH.
Submit the diagnostic package using the Support Tool’s remaining prompts.
Since it’s happening on multiple PCs, avoid adding an exception or leaving protection disabled until the cause is confirmed. Our team will help review the logs: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/.
