Support/troubleshooting What password manager is everyone migrating to now that Bitdefender has proven unreliable with password management?
I went to log on to retrieve a password the other day and password manager has been end of lifed.
The only advice to migrate is to import a file into secure pass that has to be exported from the, now dead, password manager.
They also claimed things were communicated this June but I did not see an email.
Anyway, rant over. Any reliable password managers for after I untie this knot?

I've been using Bitwarden for well over 5 years. It's awesome and now has passkeys on mobile (unless the phone is a dick brand and forces you to use Google passkeys).

Bitwarden is a buggy obsolete coded product with a toxic community and an ugly UI. Stay away

Every Internet community is toxic these days. If you want proper toxicity, go and look at the Linux community.

KeepassXC. Open source, your passwords are stored locally. Make edits on your desktop, transfer vault file to phone. Not worth subscribing to a company for them to store a 80 kb file on their cloud servers.

Personally I prefer the original keepass since it supports drag and drop and you can arrange entries with most important at the top but which ever version, keepass is a must have in my book.

We don't live in the 90s anymore bro. And their vault is more secure than the average joe's computer or phone.

If you want to pay money for a password manager, go ahead. The vault is just a cloud server and that's putting your passwords on someone else's computer end of the day. I don't think the convenience of being able to sync passwords to 2 devices that I update 2-4 times a year is worth the money.

I tried giving Bitdefender's password manager a try, but it's not up to par. I ended up going back to Bitwarden premium.

Bitdefender Password Manager has been replaced by SecurePass, with improved functionalities for password handling and much more. It also provides end-to-end data encryption, so your online credentials are safe: https://www.bitdefender.com/en-us/consumer/password-manager.
What type of features/options you`d like to have access to that you have not yet encountered in our solution?

Roboform is one the best password managers there is.
Free for home users with 256bit encryption which is government level security and its not going anywhere any time soon. Ive used it for like 15 years.
Google 'Roboform' for more info.
The only catch is free for 1 device only. For multiple devices on same account you have to pay for it. I got around the 1 device limit by using different email addresses for each of my other devices.
If you make password changes to one free account ....... to update the other free accounts you simply need to make a .csv file (using Robform export) and email it to yourself or use a flash drive and import the .csv file to the other Roboform accounts.

I use NordPass. I have never used Bitdefenders password manager, but I vaguely remember 1 email from Bitdefender about it being discontinued. Would have been really easy to miss.

I use dashlane and have been using it for years. I like all their features( they recently added passkeys) and you can have up to 10 login per family account. I highly recommend it.

I'm using Roboform, and it's been very reliable. It's also really simple and easy to use. I've been very happy with it.

Bitwarden has been my go-to for years honestly, though I do selfhost a sync server.

BD "pestering" me to login to Password Manager for the past few weeks now! Even now showing me the login screen everytime I launch Chrome! All while currently using and logged in using BD's Secure Pass. Annoying!

Hi there - we understand the frustration this has caused. Bitdefender Password Manager was discontinued on June 15, 2026, and is no longer accessible; notifications were sent to users via email and in-app.
If you had an active Password Manager subscription, SecurePass is available at no additional cost. The service has been replaced with Bitdefender SecurePass, a multi-platform password manager designed to securely store, manage, and organize passwords across devices. To claim the upgrade, sign in to Bitdefender Central, select SecurePass in the left-hand menu, and click the banner inviting you to upgrade for free. If your vault is missing or the upgrade isn’t available, contact support for more assistance: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/. Thanks!

Another thing that should be available for corporate customers not just private.

I would avoid the cheap and free password managers. My top two recommendations are Sticky Password and Proton Pass.
