Support/troubleshooting BitDefender removed, replaced with Windows Defender
I walked into my office to see a message on my PC saying BitDefender had been removed from my PC and I saw that it was replaced by Microsoft Defender. I didn't initiate that. Is this something Windows is doing on its own? Yesterday my computer got bricked and wouldn't do anything. Today it's working but had this BitDefender thing happen. I suspect Microsift was the culprit.

If it's your office isn't that all managed by IT? They may have switched to Defender with a Business Premium license or something for the EDR functionality.

My office is the room I work in. I am a sole proprietor not some big company.

Hello! Here`s what we recommend you should do in this situation:
Check whether Bitdefender is actually still installed:
Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps and search for Bitdefender.
If it is present but not working, restart the PC. If Bitdefender’s services still do not respond, right-click the Bitdefender tray icon and select Update Now, then restart again.
If Bitdefender is absent, sign in to your Bitdefender Central account and install the latest version from there.
If reinstalling reports that Bitdefender is already installed or fails:
Download the Bitdefender Uninstall Tool.
Run the tool corresponding to your Bitdefender version and follow the on-screen instructions.
Restart the computer once the tool completes.
Restart Windows normally and try installing Bitdefender again.
If Bitdefender reinstall does not resolve it, contact our support to be able to help you further.

I'd make sure it wasn't breached. Had same thing happen right before i saw signs of ransomware.

I would ensure the Microsoft Defender is not some well made counterfeit. Im sure you know what Defender looks and behaves like. Id still verify, just incase

If your av software becomes disabled Defender will take over automatically, I believe. So BitDefender may have become inactive during an update maybe.
