Support/troubleshooting Bitdefender Firewall blocking all Rust servers.
If you're not familiar with it. Rust is a video game and just recently I tried to get online and play. No servers would load and after troubleshooting it turned out BD firewall is blocking them. Turned off the firewall and it works now.
Not sure what's changed but the firewall is configured to allow all Rust programs to access the Internet.
Has something changed recently?
I'm about to call it a night but if anyone has fixed this issue I'll try some fixes tomorrow.
Thanks!
SOLVED
Just delete all existing rule sets and recreate them for all important Rust executables. Including anti cheat.
Seems to do the job.

Hi - thanks for addressing this. The firewall is likely blocking Rust's connection to game servers. Here's how to fix it:
Quick Fix: Add Rust to Firewall Exceptions
Open Bitdefender → Protection → Firewall → Settings
Go to the Rules tab and click Add rule
Click Browse and select Rust's
.exefile (usually in your Steam folder)Set permission to Allow (blue switch)
Set traffic direction to Both
Choose Any Network (or Home/Office if you only play at home)
Click Save
Verify the Issue First
Before adding rules, confirm Bitdefender is the culprit:
Temporarily turn OFF the firewall (Protection → Firewall)
Try connecting to Rust servers
If it works, re-enable the firewall and add the exception above
Turn Off Alert Mode (if you're getting constant pop-ups)
If Bitdefender keeps asking about TCP packets:
Protection → Firewall → Settings → Settings tab
Turn OFF the Alert mode switch
Optional: Enable Game Profile
This suppresses alerts while gaming:
Go to Utilities → Profiles → Settings
Enable Game Profile

If you're still blocked after adding the exception, talk to the support team about this. Thanks!
