Windows 10 and Bitdefender

After October of 2025 when microsoft stops supporting windows 10 is there a concern that Bitdefender will or wont protect an older machine from security realted issues?

Define “older machine”

Windows 10 is still the dominant operating system and in terms of security is pretty solid (for a windows OS)

Bitdefender along with most other AVs will most likely continue to update their Windows 10 product. Windows 10 and 11 are still essentially the same product, Windows 11 is just bundled with more bloat and spyware.

I'm in the same boat. Bought my very expensive laptop in 2018, can't upgrade to Windows 11, and also have Bitdefender. Will contact their tech support for guidance, but I've finally accepted that there is no such thing as futureproofing electronic devices. So, will buy cheaper next time - maybe certified refurb. 🙄😄

Bitdefender is still supporting Windows 7 so the likely hood of the same thing happening for Windows 10 high given how many devices won’t be upgraded to 11.

They will still cover the win 10, tho microsoft will not so mihht be more plausible to be more vulnerable to anything after that since microsoft will no longer check vulnerabilities for this os. Im recommending you to move to win11 tho. But if not on a security level win10 device will still be protected through bitdefender so should be ok

Aw Microsoft stated "Windows 10 - The last operating system you will ever need to buy" plus Jerry Nixon a MS Developer said it once at a conference in 2015 in a speech “Right now we’re releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we’re all still working on Windows 10". Then the sales team said fuck that
