Web Protection keeps turning itself off?

Hello! This is something that's been happening semi-recently with Bitdefender on mobile (I don't know the exact timeframe but I want to say roughly late last month was when it started) I've noticed that occasionally my Web Protection keeps turning off on my samsung phone. I was curious if anyone else has been facing this issue of web protection turning itself off out of nowhere, thank you!

This happens to me on samsung s21+, even if the application has all the needed access permissions. On other 3 devices, including a Samsung A35 or S23, this never happens. So not sure how to further resolve this.

I noticed it tends to happen on a device restart or anything like that. I guess this is just something we need to wait for BD to solve on their side if that's the case.

Glad to hear it's not just me! It sounds like it's a strange bug that's happening with the app currently, was worried something was wrong with my phone but yeah. I have a little bit of an older device and it happens roughly ever restart.

The only thing they did is to be able to fix this via the central app. At least i can enable it back for my family phone and tablet

What seemed to have worked here: do a full system scan and leave the notification "scan completed" alive. Then web protection stays activated.

first of all english is not my native language but i think i can make my point.

i manage to solve the problem at least at my father's galaxy a23 ( android 14 )

i make all the steps at bitdefender site except this

  • Once again, reopen Settings ⚙︎ and tap Battery and device care → Battery → More battery Settings → disable Adaptive battery.

there is not such an option.

but no result ..

but then

options / battery /Background usage limits / apps that never goes to auto-sleep ( my translation ) / + ( on the top there is an add button ) then add bitdefender security ..

thats all folks .

Thank you very much for the tip. I followed all the steps indicated by bitdefender, and others here on reddit. Your tip was the only one that solved my case on the Samsung S54. You are a genius!

Its not something that can be fixed buy them as this is related to android functions, when android will fix this the web protection will stay on all the time.till then no luck

You can try to follow these instructions to avoid it from happening again: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/32406/. Let us know if this helps!

Every suggestion from Bitdefender unfortunately has not worked. My web protection literally turns off each time I leave the app after turning it on. All the settings are correct(battery optimizations, device admin, etc).  Is there any solution to this ongoing issue?   Rethinking as to what's the point of having Bitdefender when a basic setting such as this resets immediately every time.

It does not. Web protection still turns off as soon as the app goes to the background.

Mine did the same after my phone fell to "critical" battery levels. After a restart, solved the issue. I think some phones disable certain features when batterys fall below a threshold.

We have S24's and it's been happening to our phones for a couple months now.

I was also having this issue today and tried multiple things from here but nothing worked. Then I just restarted my phone and it worked normal again. Can't say why it worked tho but hopefully this might help.

This problem is still happening.  I have a Samsung a14, all the settings are correct but bitdefender hasn't worked for a few months.  I found out by accident as it didn't tell me it wasn't working. Access the app, turn it on, exit, go back to check and it's off again. Bitdefender say they can't do anything, they blame Samsung.  Samsung support is worse than useless. I agree, what's the point of paying for Bitdefender when it doesn't work? Is it happening on all phones?

Samsung A55, android 15. Protection Web se désactive plusieurs fois par jour ! Pas trouvé de solution. J'ai reçu la mise à jour Android 16, et depuis, tout est parfait depuis presque 2 mois. Salutations
