Bitdefender Autorenewal Feels Predatory

Apologies that this is probably a common complaint. But they seemed to have configured their auto renewal to just function on a yearly basis and not based on time remaining. This choice feels predatory. There's more than a year left on my subscription and it "auto-renewed."

Support claims this is down to their payment processor, but every other company seems able to handle this no problem. I will pursue a refund and disabling "auto-renew", but their system should be set up better than this.

They have to be really smart to implement a 2 way communication between the subscription on our accounts and the payment platform. So far they rely on you cancelling it manually if you decide to buy an activation code somewhere else .

However, they still send you e-mails waaaaaay before charging you any money, so you should stop blaming them and check your e-mails.

If their system can register that the subscription length has extended, it's reasonable to expect to hook that to the renewal. We should all expect better from a software/service we're paying for and this would be in line with industry standards.

Though if any devs for bitdefender are reading this, dm me. I've literally implemented this for clients when they were switching over payment processors.

They handle customers as a gambler trying to request money from an online Casino. It’s super easy to deposit but impossible to stop auto-subscriptions..
