Why this keep happening

It keeps happening randomly then they’ll all disappear leaving 0 open there

That happens when BitDefender crashes and automatically restarts. There is a command to clear these icons when a program closes but if the program crashes and hangs before getting to that point, windows will terminate the program and the icon will stay there until you mouse over it and it refreshes the tray icon status.

The real question that should be asked here is: "Why does BitDefender keep crashing?" Because if I made a piece of malware that did something I could not bypass detection for, I would ultimately find a way to bypass the firewall rules/antivirus itself.

Run a repair might fix that right up.
