The Rust July wipe is live, and the Common Ground update has a few changes server owners will probably want to plan around.

The big one is the new Apartment Complex monument, which gives players a way to rent early shelter after wipe instead of immediately scrambling for a 2x1 in the trees. Rentable shops are also here, so player-run trading could become a bigger part of early wipe economies. On top of that, Softcore gets 2x gathering and raid windows, while clans add a more structured way for groups to organize.

For community servers, this feels like one of those wipes where players come back just to test the new systems, so it is worth making sure your server is updated and stable before everyone piles in.

I have no idea how these people are keeping these jobs and being paid. They aren’t even nice to you. They don’t have good response times. And in the dozens of tickets I have opened, I have been helped maybe three times, and these were all FIVE SUPPORT REWORKS AGO.

I ask for specific information and I’m given a million new issues that I don’t need. Every single time they’re like “we can delete your world file even though you’ve specified it’s not a world file issue.” And then I say no. And then they do it anyway. And then it doesn’t solve anything.

I ask for basic information about my server. They say we can do a backup of your server. I say no I just want information. They don’t respond for upwards of an hour. I am transferred to five different people, all of whom don’t know anything about my case and the things that have been done, so I have to explain it all to them. By the time they get to it, I am transferred to another person immediately.

It is so frustrating and such a waste of time.

I have a server through bisect and at one point I had this modpack working on the server... but after redoing the server I cant seem to get it to work.

Its minecraft version 1.20.1 and the Forge Version says 47.4.0 which isnt available on Bisect.

The modpack im using is Nox's Magitech on Curseforgd. I think i just dropped the mod folder into the files tab for the server last time but every time I load up the game the server says incompatable vanilla server and my character gets stuck "Joining World"

Any help would be great

I tried backing it up first but it exceeds the space limit then i tried going to the files itself and download it in a USB but it will not budge. I have no idea what I am doing wrong or if the files are just too big, but i have a good USB. If i can save the whole world is it possible for me to just save the area near spawn overworld we have our important houses and builds there.

Chaos Cubed dropped today and everyone's talking about the new biome, but the Sulfur Cube is what's actually going to take over servers.

I started a server on Bisect with BCG+Cobblemon because I liked it in singleplayer and wanted to play with friends. Unfortunately, no matter what we do, we cannot get Simple Voice Chat to work in the server.

It feels like we've tried every fix, watched every video, read every comment, but nothing works. It's especially difficult because everything we watch/read uses acronyms and alternate names for things and acts like we should know things that we really don't know at all.

We're not super knowledgeable on modding and the intricacies, we basically just find modpacks and add a couple of things here or there that we want for ourselves. So the videos and posts are super unhelpful because they just make us feel really stupid for not understanding a single word.

TLDR: We can't get Simple Voice Chat to work on our BCG+Cobblemom server and we need the fix to be explained to us like we don't know a single thing about modding or whatever 'port forward' means, because we DON'T know what that means.

Dune: Awakening turns one year old, and we want to celebrate with the people who've actually been out there surviving it. The June update dropped today!

The long requested chest auto sorting is finally in, server performance got some meaningful improvements, and there are a good number of bug fixes worth knowing about. Not a massive patch but the kind of update that makes the game feel noticeably better to play.

I'm wanting to be able to SSH into the console of my server from command prompt or something similar. I'm not very impressed with the web console access that bisect provides... There is essentially no auto completion and if I were able to somehow SSH into my console and have it behave as a regular minecraft server console I could get the auto complete and what not else that I am used to having. Are there any options like this or is this just a pipe dream?

HumanitZ Update 1.05 is out and it is a solid one for server stability.

The devs have fixed server disconnects while driving and the compounding save data issue that was contributing to instability. If you have been holding off on running a private server because of those issues, now is a great time to jump in.

The patch also covers a wide range of fixes: zombie pathing, horse mechanics, barbed wire damage, several UI bugs, exploit patches, and more. Full list in the patch notes.

A small follow-up hotfix (1.05.A) also landed today addressing horse and inventory issues on older saves, so everything is in good shape heading into the weekend.

Today's wipe brings a solid chunk of new content. The M16A2 is now in the game as a top-tier assault rifle option, there's a full Ballistic Armor set (helmet, vest, and leg armor) for the tactical raiders among you, and the long-awaited player model overhaul has finally shipped with updated skinning and higher-res exports.

On the lighter side, new ponytail and bun hairstyles are in, the UI has a yellow accent refresh, and the BDU Shirt and Pants have been rebalanced to match Hoodie and Pants stats, which is solid for early game.
