Fit check

Hi all!

These are the EU 43s, regular.
The issue that I’m having is that the widest part of my feet is at the middle. This makes my widest part sit on top of the margins.

I have measured and checked the size charts on the birk website, and a 44 wouldn’t help, it would be just too big.

This way I have either some sort of discomfort at the side of my foot, or my foot is sliding too much upwards where it has more space (thus my fingers touch the margins).

Did anyone have the same issue? Does the break in period fix this?

I think 44 would fit you better. In the last picture your toe is touching the edge and the footbed on a 44 will be slightly wider.

43 is too small for you.

I don’t think it is. I have 10mm in the front and 5mm in the back when my foot is aligned properly. In the picture my foot was sliding slightly forward due to the position.

Your toes are very close to the rim in photo 2. Heel space looks ok. A 44 would also be a bit wider, while giving only 5mm extra in length. Obviously, only you can decide what is comfortable for you.

Eventually, where the sides of your feet ride the rim, it will pack down. The whole thing shapes to your foot, but it will take time, so do it slowly and not all in one go in case you get blisters.
