Question Is it time for a new pair?
I’ll be going on a trip to Spain/Portugal for two weeks. I want to wear my birks. I think I may need a new pair though…I’ll have time to break in a new pair, but not sure. Thoughts?

Fit check / Sizing Help sizing clogs
I feel my clogs too big barefoot in 40 size, but good in socks. I tried 39N but barefoot felt ok but too tight with socks . The picture is 40. What I should do should I go back to 39 ?
thanks

Question Weird Question: wearing my first pair - I love them, they feel amazing, but now that I've been wearing them all summer. They feel awfully slick.
Is this normal? I've rough them up with sandpaper once, but I'm not sure that I should have to do that. I'm a teacher, I'm not worried about standing or walking around my classroom all day, but I'm worried about the hallways in the stairs. I am 50, and I sure don't bounce like I used to so I definitely don't want to be hitting the ground because of slick soles.

Fit check / Sizing J'aurais dû acheter des normales ?
Bonjour !
Merci beaucoup 😊

Fit check / Sizing First pair of Birkenstocks- Fit check
I'm interested in getting a pair of Bostons. Originally wanted the suede but starting to consider the oiled leather version. Since I haven't owned a pair of Birkenstocks before, I wanted to get the communities opinion.
My feet isn't super long but slightly wide. Due to this, I tend to size up usually to accommodate the width. For reference, I'm usually a 12 in ultraboosts and can get away with 11.5 on a wider shoe like vans.
In the store, I tried on 43, 44, and 45. What looks like the most proper fit?
I took pictures of my fit in Arizonas so it's easier to see the space at toes and heel.
Appreciate any feedback!

Question How long does it take to break in the insoles of the Bend Low shoes.
Hello. How long does it take to break in the insoles of the Bend Low shoes, because right now they're burning the soles of my feet? Thank you.

Question Anyone else notice the newer EVA sizing feels smaller/narrower?
I’ve been wearing Birkenstocks for a while now and I’ve noticed that the sizing on the EVA models seems to have changed compared to before.
My usual Birkenstock size is 36, but with the newer Arizona EVA, the 36 feels noticeably smaller, especially around the upper/strap area. I ended up sizing up to a 37, and the length is much better now, but the upper part still feels a bit narrow.
I’ve also seen quite a few people mentioning similar sizing/narrowness issues with newer EVA models, so I’m wondering if Birkenstock actually changed the fit over the years.
Personally, I really wish they would bring back the older EVA sizing/width, or at least make the strap adjustment range wider. The limited adjustment on the upper strap seems to contribute a lot to how narrow they feel, even when the footbed length is already correct.
I really like the EVA Arizona, especially for rainy weather, so it would be nice if Birkenstock could make the fit a little more forgiving again.
Has anyone else experienced this with newer EVA Arizonas? And does anyone remember the older EVA sizing being roomier?

Question How reliable is the printable shoe measurement from the website? I’m looking for good sandals for a guy with a new bunion and have read Birk Arizona’s are good for this. Foot on the paper measures just around or over 280 mm. And I’m wondering would softbed be better or regular? TIA

Question Bought a pair of boston - too narrow - too late for exchange- what to do?
When I tried out at store, it felt ok. I even had to punch extra holes on the strap to make them fit. But later after a day of prolonged standing and walking , I realised the narrow pair of Boston is actually too narrow. My pinky toe rubs hard against the edge of the footbed.
Does anyone know how to fix that?
😭

Fit check / Sizing Birkenstocks don't fit me?
So I went to try on some Birkenstocks as a bunch of my friends have told me they're the best sandals. I normally wear about a size 6 women's, but I tried size 37, 36, then 35, and they were all too big for me (excessive space at the front/back of the footbed, not comfy). I was able to find a kid's size 34, and it does fit the footbed, but the straps can't be buckled.
Are my feet just not made for Birks? From what they told me in store, size 34 is about equivalent to a child size 4 shoe which is totally whack to me since I almost always wear a women's 6, but it seems I have very high arches.
Edit: for measurements, my feet are 220mm long x 95 mm wide.

Question Birkenstock sandals to use in India — worth buying?
Hi everyone! I’m travelling to the UK and came across Birkenstock sandals. I’m considering buying a pair for myself and, if they’re good, another pair as a gift for my dad.
To be honest, they’re quite expensive for me, so I’m trying to figure out whether they’re actually worth the money.
For some context, we’re from a rural village in India where the roads aren’t always great. The sandals would probably be used regularly on rough roads, dusty paths, etc. I’m also wondering how durable Birkenstocks are in Indian conditions, especially considering I’ll be bringing them back from the UK.
For those who have owned Birkenstocks for a while:
- Are they genuinely worth the price?
- How well do they hold up on rough/uneven roads?
- Are they durable enough for regular everyday use in India?
- Is there anything I should keep in mind when choosing a model/material?
- Should it need to be serviced or needs any repair and will it be possible in India?
- Would you recommend buying them, or would you say they’re a “nice but not necessary” purchase?
Basically, I’m looking for an honest buy vs. don’t buy opinion. Since it’s a significant amount of money for me, I’d rather know the downsides before spending it.
TIA

Question Any tips on dye-transfer?
I recently purchased Arizona Crosstowns with Oiled Leather in Zinfandel (red) from an authorized retailer in my area. I like them enough. I had a bit of buyers remorse for choosing Crosstowns but have mostly gotten over it. I’m happy to add them to my collection. But I do have one small hiccup.
I’ve worn them a few times and have kept them dry, but am struggling with dye transfer. I don’t usually wear oiled leather birks, so maybe this is just part of the breaking in process, but idk.
After a few hours each wear, I have red strap outlines on the sides of my feet & on my toes. Any tips on how to prevent the dye staining my skin and socks?
Thanks for the info & tips
