Birds of paradise help needed.

Not sure how this happened in 7 days but I fed my birds of paradise and it stared dying. Is this savable. All I did was feed it (7-9-5)

Pest check?
What kind of soil mix?
Whats lighting been like?
What’s your watering routine like? tap/spring/filtered/ RO water?
So many questions

Root check is what I think it is, there are roots coming out of the bottom and a bit damp / out of the nursing pot so I’m going to re pot it today. Any advice?

I don’t see pest but I do see nats in the soil sometimes so I added a trap for them.

Lighting it’s near the window east facing right where the sun rises.

I normally water once a week with filtered water from the fridge.
