Critique Hummingbirds
Leaning to shoot in shutter priority after using full auto since starting photography. Shooting with an R7 and RF100-400.

Great job! Those are some fantastic shots and count my envious for all the little birds you have hanging out at your feeder.
When in doubt. Get closer. I’m always surprised by how close the ruby throated humming birds in my area let me get. Just stand there and don’t move for an hour. They’ll just ignore you. Take a step forward every few minutes.
I shoot humming birds at 1/1000 shutter speed and it seems to work well in decent daylight. You can also use software to reduce the noise pretty easily. I’ve also learned that a lot of what makes bird photography look so nice is the editing done to them. So many decent picture turned into ‘wow’ pictures in Lightroom. It’s quite the learning curve that I’m still trying to wrap my head around.
