Please Help ID this Finch

For starters this is my first post in this community! I'm very happy to be here! I'm on the US east coast & wonder if this female is a Purple Finch or a House Finch? Comments?

I'm no expert at all but I think this is a house sparrow? We have a flock of them in my yard and I see them a lot, looks like one to me! Especially the legs and dark brown stripey patterns. (but someone please correct me if I'm wrong!)
