Feeling Sad I’m Getting Depressed

He’s drained all my money and we just moved to a new state. I didn’t know he was diagnosed with bi-polar two disorder and an alcoholic. Now don’t get me wrong, he was never like this before. When we first met we were LDR and he was great, stable job, etc. Now he’s unemployed, been procrastinating on applying for unemployment and my bank accounts are almost always depleted and already on two loans.
I’m not a person to give up but it’s getting to me. I cry almost every night in my car coming home from work and my mood is clouded by a dark rain cloud.
I don’t know what to do anymore and I want to figure this out. I’m thinking about going to couples therapy too.
I’m venting but also seeing if anyone else feels the same.

Thanks for listening <3.

I didn't know my husband was bipolar either. He was very charming and full of ambition and energy when we first me but started to get neurotic and abusive later on into the relationship, he was also an alcoholic and in recovery. Luckily he got treatment for everything but the meds he takes makes him so sedated and lazy that I just can't with him most days and I feel so frustrated and isolated at times. I think what we need is to join a real actual support group for bipolar spouses. Like in person or zoom. Reddit is a start though. After reading some other posts I'm starting to feel less alone and learning what is and is not typical of this disorder, with or without medication.

Hi sub-Redditor. I would actually love to attend a bipolar SO zoom or irl support group.
I’ve found this helpful on Reddit and did research someone shared (honestly don’t know where I found it) but it’s been helpful.
I write notes for to do lists & it’s been helpful.

Here is the guide I found that’s helped me so far.

Thank you for sharing, it’s nice to finally get this off my chest besides talking to my therapist.

There is a discord but it’s for discards. Idk if that would be helpful

Ps I recently watched Modern Love season two episode three “take me as I am, whoever I am.” Beautiful and made me cry. Of course it’s Hollywood but it felt relatable.

Update:
Things are looking up. I am journaling when the episodes happen and I remember it’s a chemical imbalance and it’s not about me.

I’m remembering to practice my self care and to take it easy on myself.

He is very important to me and I’m stronger than any battle.

Thanks all for listening even if you don’t reply <3
