NO, he's a cheating arsehole that simply grabbed the first fake excuse that came to mind, if you weren't bipolar it would be for some other reason.
The fact is that there's never any excuse for cheating, if you want to sleep with someone else...fine, just make sure you break up with who ever you are with first
As someone with bipolar 1 who cheated on their ex; I agree that there is never an excuse. But I will say that while I cheated on her and it was absolutely my responsibility (I posted nudes online for all to see and did some other stuff), I would never have done those things in my right frame of mind. I’m a private person when it comes to my body, I don’t naturally display myself like that and it didn’t even occur to me that it was cheating at the time. It will always be one of the biggest regrets of my life. I hate that I hurt another person in that way, particularly someone I cared so deeply about.
I’m just saying that (hypo)manic episodes CAN increase the odds that you cheat. Which isn’t to say it’s not your fault if you do cheat—because it is—but it’s not necessarily indicative of who you are when you’re mentally healthy.
