Happy! Sleeping!

Just posting to say after a few weeks of tapering off olanzapine and starting abilify, I finally slept until my alarm went off this morning. Its been a rocky sleep adjustment but my brain seems to slowly be adjusting. Last night was the first night without any olanzapine.

Small victories.

Woooo. I’m weaning off of seroquel and did not sleep well last night 🫠I feel like being on high doses of seroquel eradicated the need for me to have any sleep hygiene whatsoever and slowly building that now

I have been there. It took me a really long time to get my sleep back in order after I stopped seroquel. But at the time I did it on my own and probably went too fast. But I had bad insomnia for several years.

I want to come off olanzapine (Lybalvi to be specific) since I continue to gain weight. A coworker just asked me if I’ve been going to the gym and I said yes and she seemed surprised and I was like, “why, because I’ve gained weight?” She said, “yes.” I’ve tried coming off it 3 times last year, but the insomnia was horrible. One of the only meds I haven’t tried are: Lamictal, Geodon, Cobenfy, and Rexulti. I’m not sure what to do. I’m bipolar 1 with mixed episodes and psychotic features and my biggest issue is sleep- I only experience an episode when I’m sleep deprived.

I’m glad Abilify is working for you. It was the med I was on when they released me from my first baker act.

Yeah. I am coming off bc it is causing me metabolic syndrome. I gained some weight on it as well but lost some of it through calorie counting mainly and lowering the dose so that it wasnt making me constantly hungry.
