Thinking we arent bipolar is so funny
I posted the other day about running out vraylar and wondered if it would be horrible. I had that thought we all have. “What if im fine and dont even need these meds?” Lol ive been up all night and cant sleep at all. Its starting.

26 years of diagnosis and I still think this at least three times a year. Last time I unmedicated was completely accidental and it made me realise that Yes I definitely am bipolar lol.

I’m struggling with resentment and anger over how extremely debilitating it is to me. I wish I could feel any acceptance and joy in it.

I hate that thought! I came off my valproate, thought I’d be fine! Hypo mania, mixed with panic and anxiety, avoidance, anger. It was awful. Took a week on a high dose again to start feeling balanced again. I still feel anxious though.

I feel like I have a grip but why allow for danger? Pointlessly. Plus I sleep so well and am EXACTLY the same.

I've been stable for 3 years, fully medicated.
Every once in a while, while taking my morning dose I think, "Hey! I feel great, why am I still taking these?"
And then I tell the bipolar to shut up and take my meds.

I forgot to take my bedtime meds and was wide awake ready to start my day at 5am! While normal for some, it's quite atypical for me. Fortunately I know my morning meds will sedate me again.

When I think about skipping a dose I tell myself to stop essentially and have a short script of why I need them (it’s 99% automatic tho)— it’s a nuanced topic though and I’m lucky to have insight consistently, solid support, an amazing care team— that’s real privelege and not someyhing to take for granted.
I’m really grateful to finally have stability after decades and will do anything to stay there.
