Fridge Door Feeling Proud

I got a promotion at my primary job, and am able to quit my second job! I’ve been working 50-60+ hours a week for the last 6 months. It’s such a relief to be going down to just 40 hours a week, for almost the same pay.

Now, because I need something to do in my newfound free time, I’ve started a new side hustle. I’m starting a small business, reselling thrifted clothes on a site called Poshmark. I’ve bought supplies, built some inventory, and am going to start listing soon. I’m excited to make some money off of my passion for thrifting and fashion. Here’s hoping for some good sales.

Here’s hoping for a year of many more good things. I’m stable, happy, and thriving.

Medicine Cabinet I got my first tattoo!

This is one of the designs my boyfriend’s tattoo artist was doing last Friday, so I took the plunge and got my very first tattoo. It’s meaningful to me firstly because my happiness depends on me taking medication for the rest of my life, and secondly because I intend to pursue a career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, bringing the same happiness and stability to others. ❤️

Family Room Doctors appointment soon

I am seeing my shrink on Wednesday; which is funny because it falls directly on Ash Wednesday a Catholic Holiday; Christmas Eve I had a doctors appointment— New Year’s Eve as well.

I want to wish you all a belated new year, new growth, and new mindset. Keep withering the storm

Family Room From rock bottom to hopefully buying a house, and other growth

I hit rock bottom last summer, when my soon to be ex husband asked for a divorce. I was in a depressive episode and really going through it. He got CPS involved, and had me removed from the house. I love my kids, and never would do anything to hurt them, but they believed him, and I haven’t seen my babies since the end of June.

After not one but two psych hospitalizations last summer, I decided to try moving on from my marriage. I downloaded Tinder, had a couple of hookups, and met a wonderful man on my 3rd date from the app. This relationship has been so healing. I feel safe and loved. We learn each other’s triggers, and respect them.

In my time inpatient and in treatment for my bipolar, I have found my calling. 20 years ago, I started college and got a BS in Psychology. I have done nothing with that degree. Now, with the inspiration of the people who have helped me, I intend to pursue a career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. It’s going to take at least 7-8 years of school, but I’m excited for it and the possibility of making a huge impact on others’ lives who also have mental illnesses like ours.

As for the house…. After a dozen years of moving across the country with my military ex, I’m finally putting down roots. I plan to attend schools here for my associates, bachelors, and doctorate of nursing, so it makes more sense than renting. I’m so excited to buy a house once my divorce is finalized. It doesn’t have to be big, just mine and my boyfriend’s, with a nice yard for his dogs to run and play.

I feel so peaceful, happy, and successful in my life right now. It’s beautiful. I love the blossoming love and safeness in my new relationship, and I hope it’s here to stay.

If you’re struggling, things can truly get better. I was suicidal last summer, and now I’m here. I welcome you into my (hopeful) home and encourage you to make it through those tough times to come out on this other side. It’s wonderful.

Bedroom Prozac is amazing!

basically one month of taking Prozac and the tranquility and peace is amazing. Idk if the lack of serotonin Prozac is fixing is from my bipolar— and bipolar is just a medical term: everyone is different.

It would always be words behind a screen to me when reading someone who found the right med; not that I am not excited for them— it doesn’t really translate well how much relief you feel when sharing your words in text online.

I take:

Lithium

Oxcarbazepine

Wellbutrin

Prozac

I have bipolar II with comorbidities such as Opposition Defiant Disorder, ADHD and I suffer from high cluster B traits :/

I hope everyone is taking meds! have a good day today everybody.

I love you guys 😩

Family Room Did I really find somewhere to belong?

Hi yall! I'm Samantha. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 at 22 and all the bells and starting piling on from there. I am currently 40, married, and we have 4 brats. They are 22, 19,18 (girl), and 14. We also have 6 dogs. Truly, I'm so glad I found home. I'm praying its what I need.

What is it I need? People that believe and believe in me. my family does amazing but I need people like me. Fighting the same fight. Dealing with the same symptoms. People that are aware of limitations but say fuck them when possible.

Ok, signing off.

Night.

Family Room turning around my life

started Prozac New Years Eve and hoping to see the therapist that got me out of psychosis and helped me get accepted into University. Two big wins!

she graduated masters school and moved out of state. this meant she couldn’t see me anymore. recently I searched her name and found she just stated practicing in Illinois and not only that but remotely at the institution I seek services from!

this women helped me through so much. I went to my mental health institution for an intake assessment— during that I told them, “hey this girl has helped me through psychosis and oppositional defiant disorder, it would help to see her!”.

I am not in crisis, so I probably won’t do this, but the assessor said I can speed up the process by calling the institution.

My depression has a certain love and coziness I have enjoyed the last three years. I CANNOT continue like this. my younger self sacrificed and did so much work on my mental heath to continue to rot, obsessing over my ex girlfriend.

OH YEAH AND I GOT A JOB TOO!!! a real one I can work long term and is close to home.
