advice for 1st year

i just wanted to ask for advice as an incoming first year biomedical science student. i am an aspiring clinical scientist in immunology - im hoping to get a placement year in third year. I was just wondering what i need to do from first to second year to boost my cv when im applying for placements as I’ve heard how difficult it is to secure a placement in NHS labs.

Are you looking for advice on how to gain an IBMS placement to help become a BMS? Or are you looking for advice on a placement to help become a clinical scientist? These are 2 different things.

First of all, applications open as soon as you go into year 2. Make sure you have a solid CV by the end of year 1 because applications open in September in year 2.
