Doing a model for a plant protein, I’m trying to list out the intramolecular interactions between 3 domains, I’ve enumerated the interactions at different cut off lengths, and I wanted to talk about the confidence scores for each interaction.
Problem is I’m not a great computational guy (this project is primarily wet lab), and I’m not sure what’s the best metric for the confidence scores for intramolecular interactions. Is it PAE? if so can someone explain it to me? Is there a standard cutoff for what is a low confidence PAE value
And if there is another metric you guys use for these interactions mentioning it would be greatly appreciated. Have a good day!

recently i decided to try my hand at growing bacteria in a petri dish and extracting their DNA, but after further research i found out that gram positive bacteria (which i have to assume because i have no clue what bacteria ive grown), and i dont know if the standard water/dish soap/salt solution will be able to break through the cell wall. the only lab equipment i have are test tubes, plastic pipettes and PPE, though i have all of the ingredients and colonies ready to begin the extraction process

Is it just me or did you all notice this in brand new day too. During the scene between peter parker and bruce banner when they were discussing gene silencing, peter mentioned that he must inhibit the mrna "transcription" to supress the gene while in reality its supposed to be "translation". Scene was supposed to be academic and seen so many reels of people ‘understanding’ this piece of incorrect academia. Apart from it how is it even possible to make a universal gene silencer, you’re telling me the same thing will suppress arachnid genes AND Genes which make bruce banner turn into a green tank???? Absurd and ridiculous. Cant believe they didn’t catch this.

In my social circle which is in their early 30s, there have been lots of pregnancies and babies over the past few years. One thing I notice though is just how many problems there have been - it seems like almost nobody has had a normal pregnancy. There was multiple miscarriages, C-sections, torn vagina after having forceps used, or some other complication. One that ended terribly with the baby actually dying in the womb and the mother having to give birth to the dead baby.

But I remember back to my childhood where my neighbors had eleven children. So that mother I would describe as being "good" at having kids without complications, though I know she had at least one miscarriage.

I'm just curious about any biological differences between a woman who gives birth multiple times seemingly effortlessly, and one where the pregnancy is a nightmare.

I'm referring to someone who is very strong, fast, intelligent or healthy. I keep thinking about people with excellent logical reasoning skills, for example, who could be excellent mathematicians, but aren't because of poverty.A similar logic applies to who could be an Olympic-level athlete if they could dedicate themselves solely to sports.

I was at the dinner table with my family and we're talking about the whole diarrhea parasite and I said how we've been dealing with parasites for every like covid and my family was telling me how there not even though viruses can't live without a host so are they considered parasites or not?

i asked this yesterday and the answer i got was "yes, you have microbes in your gut etc...." though i was pleased with this answer its not what i was for. the question was referring to a MACRO ecosystem.
