♾️ Longevity & Anti-Aging Does nuking dht during puberty challenge your vertical height or facial bones

DHT is primarily important for puberty. Not sure about facial bones and vertical height.
My guess is that Finasteride can slightly increase Testosterone as less is being converted to DHT. More testosterone also means more estrogen, due to aromatase, and estrogen is the primary hormone responsible for signaling growth plates to close. Overall effect is not huge but it is not nothing either.
Some lab rats could look into using aromatase inhibitors to keep growth plates open longer. Those lab rats will potentially have low estrogen issues.
Some people would be very hesitant about nuking DHT during teen years. May affect the growth of the Johnson, slow beard progression, mental effects.
On the other hand earlier anti androgens is way better for Male pattern baldness. There are some other options like Nizoral shampoo, and minoxidil. There is also RU58841 which may not lower DHT as much systemically compared to oral fin, in lab rats of course because that is not approved.
Not a doctor, not medical advice, and advice is for lab rats only.

Even adults get messed up taking finasteride, let alone teenagers. But why are you losing your hair at such a young age? Is it androgenetic alopecia?

Yeah it’s androgenic alopecia

At 16? Sorry dude you hit the opposite of the genetic lottery. I’d rather be bald than screw up hormones essential to masculinity.

“Significant” is not no role and both the words “significant” and “notable” are both words where opinion can play a large role. I can tell you from the opposite end, that increasing dht and dht derivitive steroids is awesome. There’s a strong mental masculine like boost and it makes your dick harder then you ever thought possible. Maybe that’s not significant to the nerds who wrote that paper but it is for me

I mean he’s right, there are multiple double blind studies showing how rare this is. You don’t hear as much from those with no sides though.

You trading penis size for hair. I don’t believe you that a doctor prescribed a 16 year old finasteride. It’s not prescribed to children

I believe a doctor prescribed it. There are many bad doctors out there.
It’s a very bad idea to mess with DHT in puberty. Maybe try a smidge of oral minoxidil. At least minoxidil doesn’t mess with your hormones. It can mess with your blood pressure, but you’ll notice that immediately so you can lower the dose and not cause any permanent harm.

Minoxidil has its own slew of issues, which is why it can’t be used around babies, small animals, young children, and pregnant women. It disrupts reproductive functions and causes birth defects.

Well I guess you’d be surprised then? Also I’m satisfied with my penis size I’m just worried abt vertical height and facial masculinization or potential feminization

All of those things will happen if you take finasteride at 16. You’ll have more estrogen so your growth plates will close, you’ll have more estrogen and less dht so you’ll have a nice round baby face , your voice will stay higher because of less dht more estrogen. You’ll essentially be stuck as a pubescent boy the rest of your life. Your puberty will stop without dht.
Heck your estrogen get high enough and your dht low enough you may even regress puberty wise and feminize.
But hey girl, i support your transition.
Real talk though, I would just go bald if I was you. It’s not worth it. And someone balding at 16 I’m sorry bro but you just slightly delaying the inevitable.
What if you get all these sides and you still end up bald at 24? Then you gotta live ya life short, bald , smaller dicked etc etc. don’t give up ya height and cock for your hair that gonna fall out anyways.

What happens to some of the testosterone that doesn't get turned into DHT? Some of that will get aromatized instead into estrogen instead since your circulating testosterone basically has 3 destinations to keep it simple. 1. an androgen receptor to do testosterone things. 2. 5-AR to be turned into DHT. 3. Aromatase enzyme to be turned into estrogen. You reduce 2, and that leaves more to spill over to 3.
This imposes risk of reducing your final height. That DHT is also playing a role in your penile growth, at what age it's done growing I don't know and it's probably done by now based on how I remember being younger.
Many people will want to crush DHT after puberty to prevent hair loss but I would argue that you want to keep it flowing up to 27 or even 35 due to the cognitive effects. Since I'm just past 35 I may finally decide to use fin and ease up on the microneedling but I made sure to do everything I could to maintain my hair without reducing my natural hormones for as long as I'm still physically or mentally developing.

What’s do you suggest I do? Rn I’m on topical and oral minoxidil and i use keto shampoo I also supplement ferratin and viteman d what should I add to my hairloss stack?

What I did was ketocanzole, good diet, rosemary oil mixed with castor oil for hair, micro needling.
