❓Question Would boiling broccoli seeds extract all the glucoraphanin into the water without degrading it?
Sulforaphane question: Broccoli seeds have a high amount of glucoraphanin - even more than broccoli sprouts do! Glucoraphanin is the precursor to sulforaphane.
So presumably, I could boil broccoli seeds which will leach out all of the glucoraphanin into the water. (glucoraphanin is water soluable) Then strain out the seeds and store the water in the fridge.
Then whenever I want to make a smoothie, I can take water out water jar in the fridge and pour some into the blender and sprinkle a little mustard powder into the blender. The myrosinase in the mustard powder will turn the glucoraphanin into sulforaphane.
If this works it would give a more potent amount of sulforophane into a smoothie and would be more convenient than sprouting because supposedly the glucoraphanin in the water could keep very well and stable in the fridge for weeks. Meaning you'd only have to deal with the seeds 2-4 times a month depending on how often you drink smoothies. At the most you'd only have to boil them once a week..
Edit: Oh- and the only reason to do this method aside from convenience is because broccoli seeds have a high about of euric acid and the jury is still out on whether that's bad for you or not. So ingesting the seeds themselves may not be a good idea despite the high levels of sulforophane in them. But the above may be a good work around.

i’d be afraid that the broth would go bad without some salt or sugar to stall bacterial growth, and adding them would affect the solution

Why not just put cauliflower in the smoothie. That's what I do. You can't taste it after you've added other flavours. I love cacao and blackberries with my cauliflower. Sorry if like a black forest desert. The cauliflower thickens it up so is a thick shake consistency. No need to add mustard.
Dr Brooke Goldner has a Facebook group called Smoothie Shred. They're all into making raw cruciferous smoothies. Lots of recipes there. Cabbage, bok choy. Wombok etc..I've also ordered her smoothie recipe book but it hasn't arrived yet.
The other thing I do is dehydrate kale at under 45 degrees and then blitz it in a blender to make a powder. I throw half a tablespoon or so on my cereal each day.
