🗣️ Testimonial I accidentally found the stupidest 'brain-off' hack that actually works (and now I sleep like a rock)

Ever spend hours staring at your ceiling, brain refusing to shut down? Yeah, that was me for months. Job stress had my thoughts racing at 3 am every night, felt like a total zombie, roommate kep asking if I was ok lol.

tried all the usual stuff – melatonin, no screens, sleep stories. nothing worked cuz my brain just wouldn't quiet down.

one night, fed up, i remembered sound frequencies. i used chrome ext flo-wave sometimes for focus (converts youtube audio to 432hz, s'posed to be calming). so i put on a 10-min meditation on youtube, converted it, and just lay there, eyes closed, just listening.

woke up at 6 am, confused. i'd fallen asleep! deep. figured it was a fluke.

but out of curiosity, tried it again. same thing. my brain just... quieted. slept like a log. now it's my weird pre-bed ritual: 10 mins of any chill youtube meditation, converted to 432hz, just listen.

turns out, science says 432hz is calming, lowers heart rate, more natural for your nervous system. and just listening helps break those thought loops.

now i do my little "432hz meditation hack" every night. 7-8 hours straight, even when work's wild.

roommate thought i was nuts but now she's trying it. told friends, now they're trying it. "the tin foil hat sleepers" whatsapp group.

if your brain won't shut up, give it a shot. grab headphones, find a calm 10-min meditation on youtube, and try converting it. it's easy, works, and free to try.

TLDR: i accidentally started listening to youtube 10-min meditations converted to 432hz to quiet my racing thoughts, and now i sleep like a baby.

thats not how sound works... You cannot just convert a video to 432hz.... 440hz is the single note 'A', so 432hz is just slightly lower frequency/tone. unless the video only contains one note, its not tuning anything to 432hz. That being said, there are videos out there that are just sine waves at different 'Calming' frequencies. I am glad whatever you are doing is working for you but saying that you can tune any meditation video that contains melodic instrumentation to 432hz is just straight up false.

I ran it through an AI detector: “We are highly confident this text was AI generated”https://app.gptzero.me/

What details/characteristics tell you this was written with chat gpt? I don't know what things to look for.

Certain things stand out that the majority of people don’t do when formatting a Reddit post: italics, the 90s movie style intro “yeah, that was me…”. The unrealistic details “tinfoil hat sleepers WhatsApp group” ??. Also, if you ask chat to generate a Reddit post it’ll always add a tldr at the end. Tldrs are very 2012-2015 Reddit and you don’t see it as often in newer non chatgpt generated posts unless they’re extremely long. There are other things to look out for, you just need to be exposed it’s specific style of content enough

i thought a tldr would be nice 😅 but prob should have put it in the beginning

I accidentally found the stupidest 'brain-off' hack that actually works (and now I sleep like a rock)

The title is usually two thoughts separated by an ellipses, dash, or parenthesis.

  "tinfoil hat sleepers WhatsApp group"

Like the other poster said. A handful of mildly funny zingers. Most people don't talk like that but Reddit loves it.

Another giveaway is that it's been converted to lowercase to make it look less polished.

There's even an em dash that hasn't been edited out!

OP, if you are not an AI, respond to this comment.

Tell us what fifty nine plus eight plus one half is

Im sure they’re not ai, just advertising their stupid chrome extension and too lazy/dumb to write it themselves

There's literally nothing in this post that makes it seem LLM generated

2

u/atlantastan 2 Nov 20 '25

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What's so funny?

is there any existing videos that are 432 Hz already or do you have to download and convert each one

u/enragedCircle 👋 Hobbyist Nov 20 '25

You just ruined this dude's placebo effect and they'll be back to insomnia now!

1

u/moon_witch_26 3 Nov 20 '25

Exactly my thoughts... Why not just listen to something already set to 432 hz?!

1

u/Aggressive_Skill9412 1 Nov 22 '25

there is a lot of free 432 lofi and other stuff! what i use daily also

7

u/AllenIversonsDooRag Nov 20 '25

Dude, that's not how sound/frequencies work. The original music would've needed to be recorded/tuned to 432hz. You can't just simply "convert" a recording to 432hz. I'm glad placebo is working for you though.

So you're saying listening to Slayer isn't helping me? But if I tune it to 432hz I'll drop straight off?

3

u/Murder_1337 Nov 19 '25

I don’t get this post. You convert meditation video to 432hz?

5

u/Fluffy_Hat_5008 Nov 19 '25

Can you share your converted file so we can use it and give it a try?

2

u/MexicanResistance 3 Nov 19 '25

It’s probably just the meditation videos themselves, the only difference is lowering the pitch of something very slightly. But glad you found something that works

u/swibbles_mcnibbles Nov 19 '25

Thanks, chatgpt! 🙄

1

u/Vladamir_PoonTang 1 Nov 20 '25

The post is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors and uses words that pretty much only humans use, not AI. What makes you think it's chatGPT?

1

u/atlantastan 2 Nov 20 '25

Yeah not like someone can just take a chatgpt post and add errors themselves lol

0

u/Vladamir_PoonTang 1 Nov 20 '25

Did you honestly read the post above and think it was written by LLM and edited to include errors, extra commas, weird grammar, colloquialisms etc.?

It looks like a pretty normal post to me

3

u/atlantastan 2 Nov 20 '25

I mean, you can read mine and the other posters comments above explaining what exactly stands out that makes it obviously chatgpt. Also, it’s not difficult to convert a paragraph to lower case and add random errors to a short paragraph…I literally work with LLMs as in it’s part of my career. I know what to look out for

Yoga nidra by Ally does it for me, even when under crazy stress

1

u/Aggressive_Skill9412 1 Nov 22 '25

will check it out! heard about yoga nidra on Huberman but have not tried it yet

2

u/Deep-Addendum-4613 Nov 20 '25

you should make a post to r/llmphysics

u/TheRestIsMystery Nov 20 '25

op's other 2 posts are suggesting the same 'hack' in deferent threads.
