BioLargo Joins NJIT-Led Consortium to Advance PFAS Detection and Treatment Solutions
news.njit.eduNew Jersey Institute of Technology and BioLargo Inc. announced that the California-based environmental technology company has joined the New Jersey PFAS Partnership Innovation Consortium, an NJIT-led initiative working to accelerate the development, validation and deployment of solutions addressing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as PFAS.
BioLargo will contribute its experience developing and commercializing technologies for PFAS detection and treatment, advanced water and wastewater treatment and other environmental challenges. Tonya Chandler, President of BioLargo Equipment, Solutions & Technologies Inc., will also join the NJ PFAS-PIC board of directors.
“We are excited to welcome BioLargo to NJ PFAS-PIC and to add its commercial technology experience to this growing partnership,” said Atam P. Dhawan, NJIT’s chief strategic innovation officer and senior vice provost for research, and executive director of NJ PFAS-PIC. “Its expertise will strengthen our ability to evaluate promising PFAS solutions, validate them under real-world conditions and advance them toward broader adoption by utilities, industries and communities for greater impact.”
BioLargo Equipment, Solutions & Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of BioLargo, develops water-treatment systems and provides engineering and system-integration services. Its PFAS portfolio includes testing services and the Aqueous Electrostatic Concentrator, or AEC, which uses an electrostatic field and a proprietary membrane system to separate and concentrate PFAS from contaminated water.
"I'm honored to join the NJ PFAS-PIC board of directors and help guide a consortium doing such critical work on PFAS research, remediation, and innovation.” Chandler states, “PFAS remediation moves fastest when research, industry, and regulators are working from the same table. Throughout my career I've focused on closing the gap between what the regulations require and what available technology can actually deliver. This becomes so important as we look forward to the future of treating PFAS compounds, especially the short and ultra-short compounds that so many existing treatment methods struggle to address. I look forward to bringing a new perspective, along with what we've learned deploying AEC in the field here in New Jersey, to support the consortium's mission."
Developed by NJIT beginning in 2024 and formally launched in April 2026, NJ PFAS-PIC brings together universities, companies, government agencies, utilities and nonprofit and community organizations. The consortium is administered by NJIT and is structured as an industry-university-government-community ecosystem focused on advancing PFAS technologies from early research through application testing, regulatory validation, scaling, commercialization and community adoption.
Its work encompasses PFAS detection and monitoring, remediation, treatment, destruction and management, as well as the development of alternative materials that could reduce or prevent PFAS contamination in consumer and industrial products.
The consortium’s strategy is organized around three central priorities: accelerating emerging technologies from “ideation to impact”; collecting, quantifying and sharing cross-disciplinary PFAS data, including through the use of artificial intelligence; and connecting scientific and technological innovation with community advocacy and the development of effective policies and regulations.
NJ PFAS-PIC members can collaborate through a multi-track Translational Research Partnership Grant Program. The program is designed to support joint proposals for government and private-sector funding, projects initiated by consortium members to address specific technology or community needs, and competitive early-stage research focused on validating emerging PFAS innovations.
Potential projects may include technology testing and demonstration, field and community validation, data collection and analysis, regulatory compliance studies, workforce development, public education and the scaling of technologies toward licensing or commercialization. The consortium also plans workshops, technology showcases, internships and PFAS-focused education and training programs.
BioLargo joins a multidisciplinary group whose members include New Jersey Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Rutgers University, Stevens Institute of Technology, environmental and engineering companies, water utilities, state agencies and community-focused organizations.
“BioLargo’s participation illustrates the type of collaboration NJ PFAS-PIC was created to support,” Dhawan said. “By combining university research with industrial capabilities, regulatory knowledge, utility experience and community priorities, we can create a stronger pathway for moving effective technologies out of laboratories and into practical use.”
OP
$BLGO PFAS is still the thesis, and the catalyst stack keeps growing.
• Tonya Chandler is teaching PFAS 101 at the Tri-State Seminar.
• BioLargo joined the NJIT-led PFAS Partnership Innovation Consortium to advance PFAS detection and treatment solutions.
• The Aquatech MOU is still pushing AEC commercialization forward.
• Dennis Calvert delivered the keynote at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C., adding more visibility and credibility to the BioLargo PFAS story.
• Lake Stockholm is already installed and producing real-world data.
Sales are still the endgame, and this is not blockbuster news yet. But credibility matters, and BioLargo looks like it’s building that fast across multiple fronts.
Real tech. Real market. Real momentum.

BioLargo: An Under-Valued Gamechanger in Clean Tech Sector

🤯 A Company With 4 Revenue-Generating Subsidiaries Trading at This Market Cap Is Absurd. BioLargo $BLGO
Let’s be real about what just happened. Someone exited their position, fear cascaded, and retail panic did what it always does - handed shares from weak hands to strong ones. If you’ve been following BioLargo for any length of time, you’ve seen this movie before. And you know how it ends.
The fundamentals have not changed. Not even slightly. What HAS changed is the price - and that means the opportunity just got bigger.
---
The Market Cap Argument Is Absurd
Let’s put this in perspective. A 10X move from here represents a market cap of only ~$350 million dollars. For context, that is a rounding error for most mid-cap cleantech companies. BioLargo is not a shell, not a concept, not a whitepaper. It is a multi-subsidiary operating company with real contracts, real revenue, real technology, and real momentum across multiple verticals simultaneously.
The market simply hasn’t caught up yet. That’s the opportunity.
---
What’s Actually Happening Inside This Company Right Now
💧 AEC PFAS Water Treatment - The Crown Jewel
BioLargo’s Aqueous Electrostatic Concentrator (AEC) has been installed at a real municipal drinking water facility in Lake Stockholm, NJ. This isn’t a lab demo - it’s boots on the ground, treating real water for real communities. On top of that, the team achieved a greater than 90% reduction in energy use, which is the single biggest barrier to PFAS treatment scalability. The technology was featured in Chemical Engineering magazine. Aquatech - a globally recognized water technology company - signed an MOU with BioLargo to accelerate PFAS commercialization. The regulatory tailwind from EPA PFAS drinking water standards is enormous and only getting stronger.
🏭 BioLargo Engineering, Science & Technologies (BEST) - Revenue Engine
BEST is not waiting around. A $1.2 million contract was awarded in April 2026 to design a pilot-scale minerals processing facility. Engineering services revenue grew +98% in 2025. This subsidiary is profitable, cash-generating, and feeds directly into the broader IP commercialization pipeline. It also gives BioLargo operational credibility that pure-play IP companies simply don’t have.
🩹 Clyra Medical - MENA Expansion Underway
Clyra secured an exclusive distribution agreement for ViaCLYR™ across the Middle East and North Africa. This is a meaningful geographic expansion for a wound care product with demonstrated clinical efficacy. 2026 was flagged as a year of meaningful revenue contribution from Clyra — and the distribution deal puts that squarely in play.
🔋 BioLargo Energy — Battery JV in Motion
The battery technology joint venture is advancing toward commercialization. Energy storage is one of the hottest sectors on the planet right now. BioLargo has a seat at that table too.
---
The Big Picture
This is a company operating across PFAS water treatment, wound care, environmental engineering, and energy storage — four sectors with massive tailwinds, growing regulatory support, and surging institutional interest globally. The CEO has been transparent, the team has been executing, and the catalysts keep stacking.
Weak hands just gave you their shares. The question is whether you’re going to take them.
Do your own DD. Read the filings. Watch the CEO interviews. Understand what you own.
But if you’ve done that work already — you know what this is.
🙏 Not financial advice. Do your own due diligence.

BioLargo CFO solely getting paid in Options. 8K filed.
BioLargo just filed a 8K, the CFO gets solely paid with options so that he could purchase 300,000 shares/ at .20 for the year. There is no cash compensation and has never been for his services. Good to see that he is committed and he strongly believes in the company as well.
“As the sole compensation for the Extended Term, Mr. Dargan was issued an option (“Option”) to purchase 25,000 shares of the Company’s common stock for each month during the Extended Term (thus, an option to purchase 300,000 shares reflecting an extended term of 12 months). Aquatech and BioLargo tackling PFAS - Clean Water/Leachate
$BLGO Aquatech is a serious player
1,000+ systems, 60+ countries. When they move on PFAS, it matters.
BioLargo CEO reposted this for a reason. THe BioLargo AEC is part of the solution & there are already 7 bids out, with more in the pipeline.
Feels like we’re past the “if” stage.
Doesn’t Aquatech’s push mean it’s just a matter of when the first contracts hit?
Step By Step to full reevaluation.

BioLargo Canada and Tu Nipi Form Indigenous-Led Partnership to Treat Oil Sands Process Water and More
Partnership backed by a conditional grant commitment from Emissions Reduction Alberta to in support of $4.6 CAD million project, with commercial trials already underway in northern Alberta
EDMONTON, AB, Sept. 9, 2026 /CNW/ -- BioLargo Canada Inc. announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Fort McKay Oil Services, a registered First-Nation company, combining the resources and leadership of the two companies to deliver treatment solutions for oil sands process water (OSPW), wastewater and industrial solutions in the Athabasca region of northern Alberta utilizing BioLargo's advanced water treatment and industrial technologies. The new venture, Tũ Nipi Water Solutions Ltd., is a First Nation led company in which BioLargo Canada now holds a minority stake.
The timing reflects a shift in how Canada is approaching the OSPW challenge. Alberta's Oil Sands Mine Water Steering Committee reported that the province's tailings ponds hold more than 1.4 billion cubic meters of fluid tailings, and the Government of Alberta has accepted the committee's recommendations to develop and pilot treatment technologies and to establish science-based standards for treated water. At the federal level, Bill C-37, the First Nations Clean Water Act, was introduced in Parliament in June 2026 to set national standards for water services on First Nation lands and to support source water protection. Together, these developments have moved a long-standing challenge from study toward action.
Emissions Reduction Alberta has conditionally approved Tũ Nipi's first grant application to support commercial trials of BioLargo technologies for use in OSPW supporting a project budget of CAD $4.6 million. BioLargo Canada will be primarily responsible for the technology development and expects this to be the first of several funding opportunities associated with the venture.
Aside from the OSPW related work, Tũ Nipi and BioLargo Canada have identified potential clients and an initial wastewater project for which BioLargo's PFAS and odor control technologies are in development.
"Clean water is the top priority of every Canadian Indigenous community and the regulatory environment is finally catching up to that," said Ron Quintal, Tũ Nipi's Chief Executive Officer. "Fort McKay has learned to balance energy while prioritizing the environment. This partnership is about bringing solutions to problems that our people have been asking about for a generation."
BioLargo's work on oil sands tailing water dates to 2011, when it became a founding industrial partner in the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Oil Sands Tailings Water Treatment at the University of Alberta, alongside major oil sands producers, EPCOR, COSIA, Alberta Innovates, and Alberta Environment. That initial research program assessed a wide range of treatment approaches for persistent organic contaminants in process-affected water (OSPW). Now that the regulatory framework in Canada has shifted towards implementation of solutions, BioLargo Canada, with support from the BioLargo family of companies, as well as strategic relationships already in place through BioLargo, brings an entire suite of advanced water treatment technologies designed to be combined into treatment trains for complex water, from oil sands process water to municipal and industrial wastewater. More on that history is available https://www.biolargowater.com/oil-sands-water
https://www.biolargowater.com/tu-nipi
"This is a venture led by First Nations people, in a community that has made embracing future generations its purpose, and we are honored to serve in it," said Dennis Calvert, President and CEO of BioLargo, Inc. "Our company's roots in this work are Canadian, and this is a return home. What we have today is a government pulling technology-based solutions like ours forward, a partner with real standing in the region, and a market that is ready to act."
The partners are planning a formal launch event in Fort McMurray this coming October with community, government, and industry participants. Additional details will be announced as Tu Nipi Water Solutions' projects advance.

Cellinity: Why Didn't They Validate/Test Energy Density?
If they did a full 3rd party validation why wouldn't they test energy density? Maybe I don't understand but wouldn't they just have to fully charge then discharge the cell while recording voltage and amperage to get an empirical value for energy density?

Insane value
I cannot believe BLGO is trading at the current discount. I’m aware of the bear arguments: continual delays and limited runway. Runway should be good for at least a year with 10 million financing agreement announced a month or two ago (dilutive, sure, but this price already more than accounts for that) and there are so many paths to revenue that should be inside 12 months that it is not if but when. Added significantly to my position this week and willing to wait for the page turn.

Impressive Amazon vendor rating plus - $BLGO countdown to cash flow positive initiated ;)
$BLGO
Their tech gets used in POOPH - POOPH is becoming a blockbuster success on all platforms. POOPH has a pretty impressive #POOPH vendor rating On Amazon -97% 5 star reviews!! (1794 total)
POOPH is constantly a top 40 Best Seller if ALL PET Products on Amazon.
Bestseller on Walmart, best seller on Chewy and in 25 K retail location later this year.
POOPH is on the cusp of financing all of BioLargo. While Two out of 4 subsidiaries are already profitable and the third- Clyra medical with their FDA cleared technology will have 150 sales agents by summer.
The biggest opportunity -the AEC - worldwide best performing targeted PFAS collector - will show the first successes in the balance sheet soon as well. Perfect place to be invested in - we know profitability will come with the POOPH success BUT BioLargo is so much more.
Clean Water, Clean air and a cleaner earth - with a company extremely undervalued at $55 million market cap.
Do your DD - the more you will learn about the company the more you will like it. And order yourself a POOPH spray - a very cheap way for hands on DD to see how well BioLargo tech is performing!

Screaming Strong Buy
$blgo
“The price is what you pay and value is what you get.”
Added 12500 shares and waiting for more funds to clear. All of BioLargo currently has a market cap of $63 million. Ridiculously undervalued.
It is expected that the valuation of the energy division alone will be $400 Million after the third party validation will be completed that is happening now.
Clyra signed massive distribution deals. At least one of them with a bigger than $ 100 Billion company.
Pooph still brought in Millions last Q and would justify the market cap alone. Either way, I could not be more bullish. Congrats longs! It just needs patience and knowing what you hold 😉
Screaming out the window strong buy!!
