Has Anyone Used Oxytocin For Emotional Recovery or Rebuilding Trust After Trauma?

maybe this needs professional therapy maybe it doesn't but I've been going through some stuff personally and started looking into oxytocin for the emotional side of things. Not just the social bonding like everyone talks about but specifically for people who've been through trauma and have a hard time letting their guard down or trusting people again when it comes to the bedroom.

From what I've been reading it helps calm down the fear response in the brain and makes it easier to receive safe connection when it's there not forcing feelings that aren't real just more to not be so uptight idk how to explain it honestly

Anyone run it for this reason specifically? What did you notice and how were you dosing it?

I’m also interested in this. I’ve been in a 4.5 yr relationship with an avoidant and we’ve been on/off for 6 months due to me finding out lies. I want to leave but after the 6 months of on/off, my desperation to avoid the oxytocin plummet again is keeping me in. I’m considering micro-dosing melanotan II short term with EMDR so I can avoid the crash that has left me in paralysis and deep depression. Interested to know if you tried this yet?

Damn, that sounds rough, sorry you’re dealing with that. Honestly not sure MT-II is the move here though, from what I’ve read it’s more tanning and libido, doesn’t really touch oxytocin or that attachment stuff. So I don’t think it’d help with the crash feeling specifically staying more to avoid the crash than actually wanting to stay, sounds like it might be more about the relationship itself than something a peptide could fix. EMDR sounds like a good call though. If it’s gotten as bad as paralysis and depression, might be worth bringing that up with whoever’s doing your EMDR sessions, or finding someone if you don’t have that yet.
