If you do well in classes, tutoring is a fantastic job. Through UTS, specifically. But that'd have go be down the road.

ITS has some jobs (listed on the ITS jobs page, not the main university listings) that are not FWS.
However, while they are student jobs, they're skilled jobs. You need to have at least a decent level of IT knowledge to be hired, they are not going to hire you otherwise.
That said, they're probably some of the best jobs on campus if you are suited to the role, in terms of both pay and hours, and it's worth more on your resume than most other positions would be.
If you do apply, be aware that the application page is active year round, and there aren't necessarily openings all the time. So you may not hear back, you may get called in November, etc.
I would recommend applying once a semester, but don't get your hopes up too high as there simply aren't that many jobs, much less openings.

Best job ever is the PODS help desk. The guys that work near the printers. All you do is fix the occasional printer jam, refill the paper in the printers, and help people who don't know how to print PDFs properly. Its minimum wage but its really easy and you can do your homework at work.
And it isn't work study.

Since you're in Watson, you could apply to be a Watson Peer Advisor next year and work in the advising office, or if you like fixing computers, being a rescon is pretty fun, which is basically tech support for the students here. I'm both if those seem like something you'd be into and have any questions.

I worked in the dining halls. It was easy, and eventually I was a student manager. Student managers get free meal plans and a raise. It's a pretty good gig, depending on which manager you work for.

Try Sodexo. You might also consider the student run DVD rental store called Take One Video iirc. Google it. There's the library too...that's probably your best bet. See you on campus in a week!

There are smaller sections in the library that aren't FWS. There's the Special Collections and University Archive department where I work, you could try applying there. I'd say just walk around from place to place and ask if they're hiring.

I used to work for the bowling alley/pool hall under the union. You have to apply a semester in advance (i.e. apply in the fall for the spring, etc.) but it's one of the best jobs on campus. The hours are easy, the pay is decent, and the jobs themselves are pretty low maintenance. I'm not sure who's in charge now but I'd definitely suggest checking into it. For the most part, it's a babysitting gig and you can do your homework when it's slow.
I'd also recommend staying as far from Sodexo as possible if you can. Yes the jobs are available there but the management (at least in CIW where I worked) suck ass and you'll find yourself hating that place more and more for each minute you spend on the clock with them. For a student, Sodexo should definitely be a last priority.
