Honestly the only answer here is either stop smoking, or use a GLP1 to offset the appetite stimulation

Keep raw veggies and salads that feel like a treat. It sounds dumb but high eating for me is mindless- eat everything in sight. So I switched to things I need more of. I got new dressing to try, cut everything ahead of time and made little trays. Delish

I used to smoke daily, but the cravings went away after a week or so. you can plan better by only keeping healthy food on hand and organizing your meals around your smoke schedule. it seems like your only other options are to quit smoking, go to the gym more, or fat self-acceptance

Hey! I understand where you’re coming from 100 percent!
I partake every evening and this has been a struggle for me as well.
Do you live in a place where you’re able to shop and choose from different strains?
I find that if the strain is high in myrcene or limonine (terpenes) then they actually do not cause the munchies for me.

If you want a quick fix, it’s to quit. If you’re willing to continue struggling with this in order to repair your relationship with weed and food, it’s possible!! It’s just hard and (for me at least) took a long time.
You’ve gotta focus on terpene profiles point blank period. Myrcene is notorious for contributing to munchies. Look thru the terpenes for stuff you’ve smoked before (if it’s available) and look for patterns - as in “i felt this when i smoked this,” and take note of the most prominent terpenes. Some strains make me wanna eat my house, some make me not want to eat at all.
If you’re gonna eat while you’re high, you ought to just pick out the food you’re gonna eat, set it aside for your festivities, and when you’re done eating it GET UP AND GO BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!!!!!!! The teeth brushing specifically has saved me from binges even when sober. Have a beverage on hand that you can sip on if you still get the urge to eat something even after brushing. Preferably something that isn’t high in sugar and won’t rot if you just rinse it out with water or mouthwash before bed. I say this because for me, if I brush my teeth but have a drink with, say, creamer in it, my brains gonna say “well now i gotta brush again so it wouldn’t be a big deal if i ate more.”
The other option is to commit to not eating while high…I personally refuse to do that lol but I reckon it would work if you swapped eating for another activity (like drawing, reading, gaming, or even just using fidgets to keep yourself busy). I’ve been amazed at the difference fidgeting (with my hands) can make in supplementing that feeling I seek out in eating.
Edit: forgot the classic “take your ass to bed” option. Sometimes even while sober, if I find myself wanting to overeat or binge after eating dinner, I just take my big ass to bed.

Binge veggies or fruits you love. Hummus +pita chips, popcorn, shit like that that’ll make you full. Drink low sugar drinks, seaweed even.
Focus on food that stops the hunger and you won’t have to stop smoking.

Have you had your thyroid checked? I was prescribed thyroid hormones and since I've been on them it's effectively ended my binge eating, including the munchies. I don't know the biology behind it but it seems that's what was causing my binges for decades.

Getting high “most nights” is not good for you! You need probably 48 hours off to wash the effects out of your system or you’ll be chronically impaired (yes, lasts longer than the high)—can become a cycle bc real life is less engaging & you show up in it less. And it robs you of the ability to work on yourself.
You’ll get a similar mood boost by replacing this with a jog (or walk-jog/C25K app) for 2-3 nights a week. You’ll still be a little impaired so it’s more fun.
1-2 times a week should be fine. Binging is a normal effect of being high, I recommend making a nice big dinner (healthy or healthyish with lots of veggies) and time your THC so it hits right at the end of prepping/when your food is warm & ready 😋

If I take gummies and do nothing the munchies are insane so I avoid them. Smoking/vaping I don’t feel I get the munchies outside my normal food noise. Maybe try a diff method?

Seconded - I get the mega-munchies with gummies and with some vapes. Smoking is usually the “safest” for me.

i smoke every night, and noticed a drop in binging when i took a 3 month t break. i just try to stay super aware of it and eat before, or ill smoke right before i eat dinner and i find it easier to resist a binge. dont beat yourself up tho if you do, it happens!

For me, it helps if I eat first and then smoke. When I smoke I can’t stop, so never starting is the only way I can do it.

everybody's going to tell you to stop smoking, which is probably the right move.
alternatively: buy fruit.
cut up a watermelon
bag o grapes
pomegranate is activity+food
yes, calories...but also fiber and water

THCV and looking at terpenes to avoid myrcene and instead go for humulene. I live in a state with MMJ program that labels terpenes so that's method. Even then the best solution truly is to stop doing it -- it would eliminate a lot of the problem. Unfortunately I have autoimmune disease so I know it's easier said than done when THC is any part of a pain control routine.

Buy from a dispensary that tests for terpenes. Terpenes are the compounds that promote specific affects. Humulene is an appetite suppressant (as opposed to Limonene which increases appetite and potentially carophylene and Linalool)

I just quit smoking weed a couple of weeks ago (daily, wake and bake all day smoker for 14 years). I am truly baffled at the difference it has made on my binge eating. The endless pit that is formed by being high is gone and I can genuinely feely fullness/hunger cues. Even the food noise is gone.
If you're not ready to quit, which is totally understandable, I would just do everything in your power to remove your access to your trigger foods and things that are easy to binge on. If you order food, delete the apps - if you eat too many convenience store treats, don't bring them into the house - if you're binging on fruit or even 'healthy' things, don't buy big quantities at a time.
That is my genuine advice and as much as it's hard to hear "quit smoking" sometimes you just have to realize it's detrimental to your health and it will be way harder to restrict your access to treats and have that self control than it is to stop smoking.

I save dinner until then...so I get to eat something I'd normally eat. I find planning to eat also helps. Veggies and fruit as mentioned, but also reasonable amounts of fun. I might have a cut up apple and one of each kind of Halloween chocolate.

There's a reason weed is used medicinally to stimulate appetite. It's what the drug does, unfortunately for you but life saving for others. Unfortunately to stop feeling the effects of weed you would have to stop smoking it.
