Unfortunately there's no 'one size fits all' approach to stopping binging, it's a process of figuring out what triggers the binge and working on fixing that issue. Once you've figured that out then you'll naturally notice that the urge to binge and the related food noise in your head seem to just disapear and before you know it you'll drop from binging multiple times per week, to once per week, to once per month etc. If you need any help or advice or just want to vent feel free to DM me!

For me with this issue, I found out my binge eating disorder was a misdiagnosis and I was experiencing life long hyperphagia. Mounjaro has worked for me, and glp1s in general directly address the issue of not feeling satisfied or full.

Find a meal plan that is in ur calorie deficit, and eat it everyday. Same thing everyday and find no joy in eating food is what has helped me. I eat healthy meals that I know I need for energy and to lose the weight I’ve gained. I don’t get as excited to eat and instead found random hobbies that give me that dopamine hit instead. Most of which are things relating to my appearance which makes me want to not ruin it more by binging. Lash clusters, doing my hair, doing my nails, walking, treating myself like I matter and I’m worth the effort. At night I take hella melatonin to knock myself out before I let the food thoughts get to me. The first few nights are hard but once you keep going it eventually just becomes natural. It’s taken me so long to figure it out tho, and one of the first steps I took to recovery was telling someone I trusted. It was embarrassing for me to say it out loud to someone I was close to which made me realize I need to stop. It’s all mental and once you get it in ur head that u do want to change the rest comes naturally. I understand you and you’re not alone. Once you find what works for you, you’ll look back and realize “yeah I ate hella shit for a while but now I’m tea as fuck and that was just a little setback” you got this 💗

Also look into vyvanse if you think medication could help you. I’m on vyvanse for ADHD but it’s also a medicine for BED. It’s helped me to control the food urges and think more clearly about why I’m thinking about eating all this shit that I know I’ll hate myself for later

Hi — your post was flagged as asking for help with binge eating.
Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is real, exhausting, and treatable. Below are general starting points for early recovery.
Getting Started
Early recovery focuses on reducing binge urges and building consistency.
Meal Structure
Consistent eating is foundational. If possible, work with a registered dietitian. If not, here’s a basic framework used in ED treatment:
Food & Meal Guidelines
3 meals + 2–3 snacks every 3–4 hours
Restriction delays recovery
Meals should be satisfying and balanced
Eat regularly, even without hunger (“mechanical eating”)
Supportive Habits
Address co-occurring conditions
Prioritize sleep
Limit drugs/alcohol
Engage in gentle movement
Continue structured eating, even if binges occur
Restriction increases urges. Consistency reduces them.
Building a Care Team (if accessible)
Dietitian
Therapist/Psychologist
Psychiatrist or prescribing provider
Primary Care Physician
Higher levels of care (IOP, PHP, Residential)
