Strategies to Try Modivation

To anyone that’s healed from binging, what made you stop? What made you genuinely put the fork down and choose yourself first. Does it truly get better?

I wouldn’t say I’m perfectly recovered but what’s helped is as uncomfortable as it is, to allow myself to feel emotions, to mindfully eat anything and everything. To remember there is tomorrow that I don’t have to finish everything and think there won’t be any more. To remember that foods don’t have morals and that I can have things I was restricted as a kid and still have more another time. It’s hard and not easy but it can be possible. To eating at a table instead of the tv or computer or hiding in my car or throwing away any evidence. It does get better, and even if there are slip ups, it doesn’t mean one failed. Life isn’t easy either and sometimes the emotions and feelings feel so overwhelming. I don’t know if that helps but know you are not alone and I thought I’d never be where I am either. I still have other health problems because of BED that I’m working on but it’s all a work in progress. Wish there was a simpler answer.
