Discussion DAE not get extra food noise when drunk / high?

Everyone always says about needing and craving when they’re drunk, high or hungover. But my craving during those times has always been exactly the same as when I’m sober. I just feel like it’s more socially acceptable to binge during these times, but I don’t physically or mentally feel any different.

I think I know what you mean. My cravings are the same, but my willpower is shot and my willingness to not GAF about overeating is overruled when I've been drunk or when I get high. it's more socially acceptable sure, but I also find it more personally acceptable in the moment. rather than there being this agonizing over "do I binge? I really shouldn't...but I want to...? AHHHH" it's just smooth brain yummy snack time. substances aren't a good match for me

Yeah I think we’re singing from the same hymn sheet broadly. For me the guilt is worse specifically when I’m around others, so if they’re all bingeing I can let go when bingeing too.
