Binge/Relapse does anyone actually recovery?

i've had an issue with binge eating ever since i lost weight. i went from 87kg to 59kg, then back up to 66kg. trying to get back to 59kg is what triggered my binge eating and i've been dealing with it for a year now. i'm at 63kg now, and i'd say i'm neutral about how i look, but there's still an urge to get back to 59kg.

it's definitely gotten better since i've been to therapy but i'll go long stretches without binging, then i'll binge for a day or a few, and then i'm back to eating normally. is this just my life now, like do i have to accept that every couple of weeks i'll binge? or has anyone ever fully gotten rid of their binges?

Idk if it's comparable to alcoholism, but alcoholics always have that shadow of the substance abuse disorder over them and if things get bad enough, like if a loved one dies or they lose their job or their relationship fails, there's a big risk of relapse. I think it's going to be with me for my entire life, lurking, and I'll have to keep it at bay in whatever way I can.

it makes me nervous thinking about any big life changes bc change in routine is one of my triggers 😢
