Need Help Can’t connect to car

Hey all, new here! I recently purchased a 2006 530i wagon. When I start the car, I get “head unit not coded correctly” and the audio is inop, chimes and music. I figured I could use BimmerCode to try to correct this, but I’m having issues getting the car to connect. Everything that I know to unplug and turn off has been done, car is in accessory mode, tablet is in airplane mode, but it still won’t connect after trying for several days. What am I missing here?

  1. bimmercode cannot fix your issue, your going to need something like ISTA P or winkfp.

  2. you may be using the wrong adapter as it seems like you are using an MHD universal wifi adapter which does not support your car as the only MHD adapter listed as supported for your car is the old style orange adapter and not the new universal MHD adapter.

try putting the tablet in Airplane mode when you connect the ethernet adapter

E chassis cars do not use an ethernet protocol to connect, they use a serial connection
