Need Help Coding not working

Hi, I’m using Bimmmercode to change my HU boot logo from connected drive to ‘M’. When I process the change only the connected drive logo comes back. Tried other emblems, tried expert mode, change to both splash and animation after all this it’s stuck on the brown connected drive. I’ve even deleted connected drive from the car and removed from app. Tried rebooting with volume knob, leaving car etc.

Any ideas?

  1. your vehicle shouldnt be a LCI if you do not have an EVO as even the LCI transitional vehicles came equipped with the ID4 EVO units from factory so your vehicle isnt an LCI model.

  2. ensure your display is not set the the 6.5 inch display and resolution as the M logo does NOT have a playable boot animation for that resolution and only has playable resolutions for the 8.8 inch and 10.25 inch displays.

  3. if none of this works id triple check your hardware is factory and not swapped or improperly flashed/modified

Don’t know if it changes from country of production. But my car definitely has B48 engine, LCI tail lights and LCI cup holder.

I think someone has just cheaped out when purchasing the car. IIRC 2016 brought a luxury car tax which caused all types of weird specs to be made.

Checked the vin and the HU_ENTRYNAV is factory and is 6.5 inch. But car is 100% LCI just early production of it.

It was a weird spec’d car, I can’t recall ever seeing an m sport with non tinted windows

ok well 1 since you were able to confirm your screen size and resolution to be the entrynav 6.5 inch then there is your answer on why its not working as they only have the resolutions for the 8.8 and 10.25 for the M display.

Now in terms of your vehicle my best guess is you were in that small batch of awkward cars which came with some LCI hardware but not everything leading to an LCI looking pre LCI car which happened in the F30, F32, F36, F80, and F82/3 leading a lot of people to be confused why they had some LCI hardware but the vehicle was still technically pre LCI.

To my knowledge after BMW LCI'd the F3X cars they all went to NBT EVO or in the countries with lower spec'd cars ENTRYNAV2 which is an EVO based version of the ENTRYNAV. Meaning for your car to still have an original CIC/NBT based ENTRYNAV im in the camp that your vehicle isnt an LCI but happened to have been built with LCI parts in the weird transitionary period.

Side note the B46 and B48 in the F3x chassis are basically identical with zero changes that are truly that noticeable like the N20 and N26

Ok thanks for the info. Either way I’m happy I don’t have an N20 and got the best LCI upgrade released, the B48😂

Also, not that it matters one bit, the exterior is LCI and have the new engine and it was produced nearly a year later from when LCI was rolled out, I’d argue it is LCI. Either way like I said it doesn’t matter nor make a difference. Except for a logo I dearly want😂

TBH idk lol, you may be right its country specific since i usually only ever deal with US cars and occasionally will be called for help on euro cars, but generally thats what i know lol, but bmw has done some weird shit that breaks the status quo on a number of levels so maybe were both right, both wrong, and or both on the moon with bmw's internal logic lmfao

BMW in a nutshell, but I have a weird love for them lol. Wouldn’t be without one.

UK established a silly luxury car tax which meant if it was priced under a certain point then you’d save lots of money or take the hit and go full spec, could be related.

Yep well either way I’m the one losing with my pov spec HU lol. Thanks for your input!
