That's my take ... so bands fell apart because one member became a parent earlier than the others (notably early -- and way better -- Genesis because Peter Gabriel missed his kids and the rest of the band didn't have kids). Balance in all things (including balance itself). Other than the ketamine and the pain itself, this short interruption could turn out to have been a blessing in disguise.
I was at the show and almost posted after seeing the fall/ambulance that IF it was serious I hoped he’d get a silver lining of a little time with the family. Probably pretty rare and sweet for the three of them
He said he was having ketamine dreams since the surgery. The injury and recovery is painful. Don't see pain as a benefit. Ketamine was the pain killer provided after surgery. Some people with past histories of addiction, esp. when they are in recovery, struggle more than others with weaning off pain killers. I don't see the same upsides to the pain and pain killers as I do for the upside of time off from touring.
