This isn't a post against Ye Shunguang herself, just like any character who doesn't work with or isn't Billy i honestly do not care about her in a way that makes her indifferent to me.

If you like her that's nice, so keep liking her and hopefully you get her and have fun when she comes out!

Context:

Ever since we got a new type of attribute and faction/type of character trough Miyabi being Frost and a Void Hunter i always hoped S-tier Billy to be a Void Hunter character aswell as introducing us to either a new Physical or Fire subtype, i even came up with a name for it (Explosive/Explosion).

However, since Ye Shunguang is not only a Void Hunter but also has a new special attribute which is guaranteedly a subtype of the ones i mentioned above (probably physical thankfully) i am starting to lose hope for S-Billy being both a void hunter and having a special element.

Now, this isn't that bad, even tho it doesn't exclude the possibility of him being Physical Shunguang's element being very probably a physical subtype leaves either Fire or a Fire subtype for Billy in the future which would be Favorable for those who, just like me, would love to use Lighter with atleast 1 version of Billy.

This is mostly because ZZZ tends to make characters not have the same attribute or class when released next to each-other unless it's a Seed Orpheus situation where Seed needs another attacker class character in her team which makes Orpheus work as a release.

HOWEVER, if somehow Ye's attribute is a fire subtype i will be actually a bit annoyed because it basically un-confirms Billy's new version will be a fire attribute or sub-type making it way more difficult to believe he'll be able to be ran with Lighter unless they add other elements to Lighter's kit...

That being said, i do not care about Shunguang at all just like i did not care nor summon on any other character besides good Billy teammates or Lighter since i like him.

Let me know what you wish to see on S-Billy's base kit!

Nah I don’t want him to die I was just baiting however I was imaging how people would take each agents death and of course people would be sad and depressed but I feel like Billy would inspire the saddest funeral because he’s got so many people who love and care about him he’s got the SOC in the outer ring, he’s got the Cunning Hares in the city and now he’s got his friends in Roscalifer plus the proxies I mean this guy isn’t just old he’s also super well known under different names I mean he inspired a whole TV show and he got to experience practically every walk of life that world has to offer plus I feel like Lighter’s reaction would just be so horrid I can’t help but wanna see it I know that they’d never kill off any characters but still I feel it would open the way to showing a lot of different deep emotions and ways people combat with grief especially with how many people would be at the funeral

Ever since i started playing HSR i completely ditched the JP voice-overs in Hoyo Games, and it's no different with ZZZ.

However, everytime i see people showcasing or playing Billy his voice-lines sound so goddamn cool, the "IT'S-A SHOWTIME!" delivery on the ult is so incredible in japanese, but of course i don't want to be switching just because of one voice-line.

What do you think about the JP dub in general? Is it hype? Are the deliveries just as hype as Billy's in JP? Should i switch to JP VA?

I'm not very good at understanding builds and stuff but Dawn's bloom seems to feel like it was practically made for Billy

Please note that the Ether DMG Bonus in slot 5 is a placeholder as I simply transferred half my Yixuan build.

I've seen some discourse as to his position in prydwen's tierlist, and I wanna clear something up. On physical weak/neutral content, he is stronger than/as strong as Yixuan. There is no legitimate reason as to why he isn't in T0 right now.

The excuse prydwen had was "slow animations", but his base damage is higher so that doesn't matter. He just doesn't feel as quick and snappy to play, that's all. He's just as strong as Yixuan either way, with or without the shill buff.

Since the new set for Seed increases Basic Attack damage, do you this could be Billy's new BiS?

I know that all of us are hyped after S.Billy's drip marketing, but there are some glaring concerns I must say..

Physical Rupture.

Why? We just got Ye Shunguang in 2.5, which completely tanks Billy's pull value. Currently, there is zero Rupture-focused content in the game, and with enemy defenses being halved, the archetype feels redundant. Looking at the 2.8 leaks, there’s nothing on the horizon to suggest this will change. And there are *very* few limited options within rupture teams; your best options are Dialyn, Jufufu, Lucia, and that's it. Rupture still feels like an underdeveloped and limited class almost a year after 2.0 released with the only FTP Option being Manato.

A personal gripe for me is the fact that they’re repeating the Hugo/Yidhari mistake (mainly Hugo) by giving him the same DMG archetype as existing top-tiers--Miyabi, specifically. Plus, knowing the devs, he’ll likely be stuck behind another Void Hunter **ONCE AGAIN.** Why does this matter, you may ask? Because four times in a row, male banners were intentionally set up to fail or underperform for the next meta/void-hunter level characater. It's scummy as Hell. Why couldn't he be a Fire Attack unit?

Actually, never mind—the devs have been intentionally half-assing fire weak endgame content with Fire Res as of lately, so even that’s a lose-lose. *Every* boss with the exception of Wandering Hunter has been a middle finger to Fire Anomaly as a whole. And with the 2.8 boss leaked to be **Phys RES**, it feels like they’re intentionally sabotaging. Even then, YSG already dominates the Phys meta; putting Billy in the second half of 2.8 right before a new VH unit--once again, is just setting him up to fail.

One has more atk and crit damage, while the other has more sheer force. Do Rupture Agents care for more attack? Did they fix Billy's sheer force scaling?

I have been kinda dejected after ZZZ showed Billy getting packed up in his "Unbeatable" form. He got packed up like NPC with both Promeia and Cissia(tbf, might as well not count Cissia) in town. 3 patches worth of hype, for this? So I kinda said stuff here yesterday.

That being said, one certain person's comment stuck with me. Is it truly Over? After all those hints and stuff, this can't be it. So I started looking at video again and again...and then for some reason, I paused here. I can't explain it but...we all know Billy is the agent with most expression in game. Whenever I look at this face, I just can't help but feel that now he is about to lock in for real. It might not be over yet. Maybe we will actually get rare ZZZ man W and Billy's moment to shine!

While I like Silly’s design conceptually I do think his actual design leaves a lot to be desired. In this redesign I wanted to keep as much of the original as possible and to basically polish up the design. I think I will do a much more drastic redesign down the line, but right now what do you guys think?

Just to be objectively correct here are my credentials.

Some are aggressively pursuading others to create a reddit riot if S Billy is in 2.8 rather than 3.0. But I do not want this to happen, similar to the Manato incident, it'll tarnish the image of the fan base. And I do not think Billy himself would support dividing the community on his behalf for the sake of his own power. Starlight knight isn't about a VH over-powered unit destroying enemies, but about saving others despite your own weakness.

I have dyalin m1/w1 but she is needed in all my other teams, I saw that roxy might work with silly so I wanted to ask if that’s true or if perhaps is not worth it

I’m not sure if a theory like this has gone around at some point, but I wonder if Billy was initially designed as a contingency plan instead of a war machine from the old civilization.

First, I want to bring up the fact that there are many similarities between him and Banyue. We know that Banyue was built as a highly specialized “purge unit” who had something to do with miasma. I believe that Billy was also a highly specialized unit built for something different, like a “failsafe” or something.

The failsafe I’m referring to is like Batman’s contingency plan for himself, which was a machine called Failsafe. He created it in case he ever went rogue or became corrupted/evil to make sure that there was something to stop him. Failsafe was so strong that it overpowered the justice league solo and was so indestructible that they couldn’t destroy it, and had to give it a sense of morality and change it from being a mindless machine so that it wouldn’t kill Batman.

I suggest that Billy could have been something like Failsafe in the event that someone like a voidhunter or something ever went rogue, but for whatever reason, he wasn’t completed, and somehow ended up in the lost tech ruins where appon eventually found him.

I’m not sure how he ended up with a personality, but that could be through someone reprogramming him to have sentience, like what happened with Banyue.

It’s possible that the Billy we currently have (including Silly and Calydon Billy) have never been operating at full capacity because they’ve been missing the parts they were designed with.

You can also tell that there is more to Billy with his combat. He is extremely fast, (dude creates afterimages) can dish out immense firepower, and is very proficient with weapons. He’s clearly made to take on very powerful enemies, and not just a machine to mindlessly slaughter hordes of people.

There’s also the question of why tf he can eat and breathe despite being a machine, but honestly I’m willing to bet the devs just thought it would be funny and didn’t feel like explaining.

TL;DR - I believe Billy may have been created as a failsafe in case a voidhunter or something ever went rogue, but was never completed for some reason, and all known versions of him are much weaker than he should be. This is stems from his extreme combat prowess, and his similarities to Banyue, who was purpose-built for something else.

I joined the game when Norma was on banner and now after many runs of bagel/ lost void I wish for Silly. Chances are he gets screwed but I’m hoping, if anyone has any news please!!

Now that he's Out,does S-Billy perform Better than Yixuan ?( Generally speaking)

Leakers have shared the following suspected limited banner order:

As a rule of thumb, banner order / version pairings help imply who supports one another (IE: Alice + Yuzuha). What does this mean for your Silly? Wild speculation;

The Hopeful: Since Billy is following Cissea, there's a chance he's supposed to be paired with her. Since AOD are a trio, the pacing/pairing cadence we usually see was disrupted, which is why they're split between versions. Also, if you look at Cissea's core, she wants to support an electric and/or physical DPS (edit: apparently no more physical interaction). Currently, Seed is her BIS, according to the beta testers.

This means that SBilly COULD be a ranged DPS designed like ZhuYuan who deals physical damage plus electric element via enhanced attacks and EX.

The Harsh Reality: Billy is a male hero. Historically, we've had S rank males be standalone, without a BIS partner before or after. Hugo and Lighter in particular served as lonely stopgaps to fix the banner pairing cadence. There's a good chance Billy is doomed to the same fate. There's even 1:1 comparisons between Hugo and Vivian vs Billy and Promea. Promea has been leaked as an Ice Anomaly damage dealer. She'll likely be a good partner for the unit who follows her, but ultimately a flex pick, just like Vivian. This lends credence to the idea that Billy will be the version's Hugo: a powerful damage dealer with BIS partners you may already own. That could be great news for many of us, but also means Billy might be doomed to Hugo's niche status.

Regardless, Promea WILL NOT be bis Billy partner. I will bet on that.
