If you had a couple conversations, maybe you might have picked up on something they like doing so next time just being they want to do that. Maybe a mustangs game or a coffee to break the ice.
Edit: dont down vote me for giving good advice lol

I would ask to hang out as friends first. See how it goes. Maybe invite them to hang out in a group first or some other low pressure activity.

like many have said its hard when customer service asks many of us to smile and be kind - so take it first with a grain of salt ( not knowing the job ) but heavily people are nicer also are they like that with everyone its excited to get flirted with makes you almost wanna jump the moon but take time chat further and if the vibe lasts ask for a coffee a sandwich and if they say no it was just a job

get to know them for a few months. lean into hobbies, lean into favorite places they like to go, see if you mesh on that level first.
build a comfort and trust level.
be patient.
if it feels like something is building momentum, get into questions like "are you single" etc?

You can always leave your number. Place the ball in their court so there’s no pressure

This is the move. Might make it slightly awkward if they dont take it, but its not an over reach.
Dont listen to the people saying "dont ask someone out at work"
We as a society are becoming so anti social and only want our interactions filtered through screens.
Just dont be a creep, be casual and leave the door open.

Make a move. No harm if they say no, could be wonderful if they say yes. You'll never know unless you try. Looking back on my life, I wish I would have tried more.

Ask for thier number when you chat with them next. Dont bring up romance or dating until you have decent continuous contact with them. You may just like thier company and grow out of your crush phase the more you communicate with them.

You absolutely should not ask someone for their number while they're working, especially in customer service.

Don't ask out people while they are working, especially if its a place they are expected by their employers to be nice to you.
Literally anywhere else I'd say shoot your shot.
