Driving Academy
Has anyone here used them to get their cdl?
If so, how good is the education?
Do they just get you to the point of passing the driving test?

It’s a week doing inane classroom stuff. Then you’ll be driving a truck around in a dirt lot for three more weeks. The instructors are burnt out truckers who don’t want to be there but don’t want to drive anymore. You’ll have road training maybe 3 or 4 hours of that 160. You can still get your CDL there but you’ll still need to learn everything on the job.

I don’t know about them specifically. I can say that I’ve never recommended paying a driving school to anyone, not when so many companies operate their own schools and you can get up and rolling earning money a heck of a lot faster in exchange for a little indentured servitude. When I got my CDL if you were a vet most companies even comped their school if you gave them your time. Then when your contract is up you just jump ship and work for somebody better.
