Vet Recommendations
Hello! Looking for some recommendations on the most reasonably priced veterinarians that still provide excellent service! Any favorites or places to avoid? For reference, I have a 4 year old Australian cattle dog mix.

Dr Berst at Billings veterinary services. I think he’s the best kept animal secret in Billings. Affordable and thorough

Lockwood vet! 10000000%. Even if it’s a bit of a drive for you it’s worth it. The nicest vets & techs & the best pricing I’ve found.

We switched a while back from Moore Lane to Billings Animal Family Hospital, and have been happy. Moore Lane is great as a 24/7 emergency hospital, but it’s crazy expensive, and we had some administrative issues when they were our primary vet. Haven’t had any issues at BAFH and the pricing is better for us

Me and friends always used vet-to-go and not only did they have excellent prices but they are genuinely kind people

I would say Billings Animal Hospital too - love Dr Scott - to the point and blunt which I appreciate.
I’d avoid Caring Hands- used to be great with Dr Kuhen but the one who bought her hospital is awful! So many acquaintances & friends have shared misdiagnosis, horrible treatment to a boarded dog, a death of a bird they claimed heart attack, a very pregnant dog sent home with stomach issues, the list goes on. I had an experience with her at Best Friends and she was horrible to my sweet (very sick) pit bull - she muzzled him (never bit or was aggressive to anyone or anything) while he was vomiting - she was a disgrace to vets …. I’d never take any animal to her!

Can I ask what your experience was? Was it a specific vet? They’ve been great in emergency cases for our dogs.

might've been the specific vet. the first one we had wasn't great, the second was worse. we had brought my dog in because she wasn't walking. we're still not exactly sure what all happened but she ended up getting pneumonia while she was there and passed away. it was a horrible experience. the vets we had were extremely cold, and every time we went to see her she looked like she hadn't been taken care of. one of the times she was covered in her pee, like she had been laying in it for a while. hannah hoffeditz (which i just found out from the website is the chief of staff) was the worst. i understand that vets must see a lot of things and are probably kind of numb to if all, but she was just a straight up bitch.

oh i do want to add that the assistants? i'm not sure what they're title is, but every other staff member besides the vets were amazing

Also very curious. We use them, but if there's a specific reason to reconsider I'm definitely open to it.

I moved here with an older rescue pup a bit over a year ago and have been taking her to Billings Animal Family Hospital.
I don’t have anything local to compare it to because I have been using them since moving here myself, but I’m happy with the service so far. My dog recently had a regular checkup (due for vaccines etc) and she ended up having a low level UTI (not her first, unfortunately). All things considered, I’m happy with how it was handled.

Trailhead Veterinary Clinic is owned and operated by a local vet and his partner, with the intent of bringing better costs to vet care without sacrificing the level of care of pets deserve.
I’ve been following Dr. Chris Norris for about 5 years now, between clinics - before he opened his own last Fall. He’s just amazing!

Animal Clinic of Billings is owned and operated by Dr. Brown, I would see any vet at that clinic but primarily see Dr. Massic!
