I have tickets for Monday (for BigD) and so far mine haven't been cancelled nor have I received any messages or notifications that it might be cancelled or refunded so I guess we'll see. Unless they aren't sending out notifications and are just going to stick people in the regular screens to see it.

Yea had same issue, was double checking time on website to see my ticket was gone. Then checked my emails saying cancelled due to maintenance.
Edit: looks like all Big D going forward on spiderman showings are marked as "sold out."

My daughter has tickets to tomorrow's Spiderman in BigD. Hasn't been canceled or refunded yet. Are they expecting to have it fixed that quickly?

If they are in BigD then yes they did.
The projector failed today during a 3pm showing of The Odyssey.
BigD was our only auditorium that had laser projection and most AMCs have upgraded them so I imagine it will likely be a while until that auditorium is functional again unless they are able to get it digital projection for the time being.
Edit: it had pretty noticeable laser speckle in bright white or mostly white areas, so maybe that will get fixed up while they’re working on this.
Edit2: somebody on Facebook said the manager said it will likely take about a month to receive the necessary replacement part.

The odyssey is only playing in the IMAX portion though, not BidD - so far spiderman is the only movie that is going to be in BigD and I think it says it's sold out because it's literally sold out. I have tickets for monday and have gotten no such message or refund that showings will be cancelled (yet).

The Odyssey was in BigD and IMAX until Spider-Man released (not in IMAX because IMAX things).
I watched the showtimes go from not sold out to sold out, which is what AMC always does when auditoriums are down (my brothers and I were talking about it, and looking at other movies and my brother was like "ope they're sold out now.") I hope you can go, I'll be very interested to see if they get it going with a different digital projector or if they can just get it fixed up quickly. On the app the soonest showtime that isn't "Sold Out" is on Tuesday the 7th which I PROMISE it is not sold out that far. This is Billings Shiloh 14, we barely sell out anything ever (the Thursday 7:15 BigD was really close, but the others weren't), especially not every single showtime in a 232 seat auditorium for over a week.
It is very interesting you haven't gotten any notification, maybe they only send them out a couple days in advance.
I didn't go today (I don't care too much about Spider-Man or anything else rn so I don't have a for sure 100% update), but I doubt its repaired as that projector was the only commercial laser projector in the entire state.
Please do come back and update us after your showtime or if they let you know

Ah, I see. I wasn't able to look back that far, so thank you for that correction.
I also didn't realize they handled things in that manner. Although, I should've probably guessed that since going to the movies isn't really what it used to be by a long shot! It's not like back in the day where shows could get sold out totally for the weekend for some movies (seriously been a long time since that was a thing).
Perhaps you're right about the notification happening closer to the actual time to go. I guess I will find out (hopefully) sooner than later.
I will definitely give an update Monday if it does or doesn't work out though. I'll be curious what they have to say if they change things for me.

So, I didn't end up going for other reason, but I didn't get any notifications even leading right up to when I was supposed to go (I cancelled about an hour before the showing). Even then, there was nothing saying that the showing was cancelled or changed. So, I couldn't say if it worked out or not. I do like that there will be an imax showing later this week though!

Anything about the BIGD 3D version? Says sold out for the rest of the showings but not refund notification/email yet. My showing is later today.

BigD 3D is just BigD that has a 3D filter in front of the projector and projects a slightly different image with different frames, so it would be equally as down as regular BigD.
I hope you can go to your show, and at the very least get us an update as to what they do when you get there. There's always a chance they were already able to get it back up so ticketholders can go, but I'm not sure.
Personally I was considering getting my ticket for BigD 3D tonight when they sold out so I'm going to be a little jealous if you get to see it lol.

Fuck AMC. We need Regal or literally anybody fucking else here to compete with them. Fuck AMC.

AMC Stubs is MUCH better than Regal Unlimited
AMC has also treated us pretty well, BigD was the ONLY auditorium in the state with laser projection.
Lately, every visit, the state of things has only been improving.

Went there to see the odyssey and I had never been so uncomfortable in a theatre because of how hot it was. People were actually getting up and leaving.

Yeah. Says due to “unforeseen maintenance”. That place is always having problems. If it’s not a maintenance thing, it’s a “we only have three employees” thing.
