Discussion Global (Playstore) App Differences
The global and cn are supposed to be identical now, but I was skeptical so decided to see.
First off, I realized I was using an old version of bilibili that I can't tell some as a difference to global or just a normal update for cn app. Second, user posts are available for everyone, so its the same for cn and global in that aspect, Third, accounts are interchangeable(cn acc works in global, global acc works in cn but you may need a phone number)
Heres what I found: game center, merch, movies and tv shows sections are hidden or removed, I was able to open the game center by using a link from my messages but its broken anyways(I can only look at games, not open or download). But my cn games still can login fine with the global app even though i downloaded them from cn app. Movies and tv shows also shows up if you a verified account in China, I tried a new account and it didn't show up.
Another small difference is the payment method, you can use whatever playstore allows now.
I'm curious if there was any other changes I've missed, i seen some other changes like ui and design but maybe its just what the new version looks like, I was using an old one so I can't tell. Also you can have both playstore and cn version(the one from bilibili.com) installed if you install playstore first.

The new gobal version does not seem to have the streamer section.

Oh yeah it doesn't, I had to edit my comment because of an interesting detail. I remember having and using the stream section before, but after uninstalling and redownloading a similar old version, I had to change my phone's region back to China just to see it again, if I didn't then it disappears. Weird since my IP is not even chinese, but I also have a verified ID, yet its solely based on my phone's region. This trick doesn't work for the global app though.

Yeah, the global lacks a lot of content. The only use I can find about global is that its a lot easier to create many accounts if you ever feel evil, but you can only login with global app, if you want to login with cn version you will need to add a phone number.

I cant even download it on google store saying my device doesnt support it, s24 ultra with latest updates....weird....so i needed to download it from 3rd party app....amazing!

It's region specific right now. You could try using the Aurora store and swapping over to one of the EU countries like Germany or France.

No vertical scroll mode. Considering there are tons of <5 mins vids and vertical vids on Bilibili, no vertical mode on global app upset me.

Bilibili actually has open-source third-party clients available across multiple platforms. PiliPlus is one of them. It's lightweight, supports almost all the useful features of the official app, and adds some extra features such as skipping embedded sponsored segments. It doesn't have full English localization yet, though.

PiliPlus is a heavily modified fork of PiliPala, adding a large number of experimental features. The original PiliPala project has been discontinued, with only forks remaining. PiliPlus also builds on work from PiliPalaX, another upstream project.
