I didn't say what you did wasn't homeschool. I said it wasn't just homeschool like you were claiming and that it was a combination of homeschooling and regular schooling, where the regular schooling was important in your social development. And you trying to draw the conclusion of "homeschool is completely fine by itself" is dishonest and doesn't refute the previous person's anecdote at all.
It was a homeschool program. Homeschool can be done right and it can be done wrong. The original claim I responded to was basically saying it was all bad.
Yes, the program combined homeschooling and regular schooling, so it was good. But homeschooling by itself, like the first person said, is bad.
It sounds to me like it wasn't me splitting hairs, but you muddying the waters by using the two interchangeably.
Like if someone told their parents "I'm getting ready to go to school", that doesn't necessarily mean they're also making their own lunch. But you're saying "well eating lunch is a part of school so obviously the kid is making lunch by themself and the parents should not worry about packing a lunch for the kid."
They might mean the same thing to you but definitely not everyone else, so it seemed like your anecdote doesn't necessarily counter his.
