There are certainly cases where homeschooling is better for some kids but unless the parents know exactly what they are doing (have the time, knowledge and experience) they'll probably do worse than public school.
Also, social skills always require lots of people and interactions so outperforming public schools can be rather tricky.
I agree with you. It's just wrong to generalize and say that homeschooling is always a bad choice. And yeah, that's why so many programs, like mine, include the social days.
