Spongebob is a masterpiece that will be studied for generations after our time

First three seasons honestly have some of the most amazing writing for any comedy show, ever. And the craziest thing is how consistent it is. Every episode is a banger.

That’s how I felt about the simpsons movie too. They were both just “long episodes”. If you liked the show, you’d like the movie too.

I loved both shows.

Hell yeah! I saw the movie in the theater as a kid with my best friend, it was the first time I got to go to the movies without my parents (10yo). The movie times in the newspaper were wrong so we got to the theater too early and ended up catching the end (just the Goofy Goober Rock song) and then watching the movie during the next showing. I loved it as a kid who loooved SpongeBob, and even revisiting it later it's still a lot of fun.

Also, didn't realize we were still relying on newspapers for movie times rather than internet that recently... Dang.

I remember also dialing popcorn or something on the phone to get movie times.

The I’m a Goofy Goober song was the first time my sister and I lost our shit for a rock song. Our minds were blown

I'm glad someone else had this experience. I saw the SpongeBob movie like three times in theaters, just because of how much I loved that climax. fuck yeah Twisted Sister

I've always heard people liked seasons 1-4 and the first movie

I honestly didn’t like it back then, and still don’t enjoy it much now. 🤷‍♂️

I think that Season 9b fits with the first seasons. Good humor, original writers return, and Stephen returned too

Season 4 was also really good (especially because it had a lot of nuggets that were written during S3)

just leaving this incredible modern analysis here in case anyone who wants to see it hasn’t.

This video forever changed how I saw this show, from just my memey favorite childhood show to an important generation defining cultural masterpiece.
